That shift was exactly why you put Ovechkin out when you're up 3-2. He got the puck in his own zone and iced the game in a blink, crisis over. It's not about stat-padding, he can put it in the center of the net from the other side of the ice.

Also, he made the unselfish play when he got the first chance. Had the open net and made a point to give it to Backstrom who let Kopitar get back on defense.

Anyway, the Capitals played a meh game and Ovechkin won it for them in about 3 minutes. Keep the hate flowing, let it flow through you.
