Ian Kinsler is no longer an average major league hitter and hasn't been since 2016. He's been especially abysmal since joining the Sox. Career numbers against Sabathia are meaningless anyway with such a small sample size (41 ABs), but when you factor in how bad he has been with the bat the last few moths there's no reason to play him.

Didn't think of that. Nunez was the guy ole fat ass criticized for bunting. So if Nunez wants to do that again I am all for it.

Also, Kinsler's career OPS against Sabathia is .757.

That's below his career mark of .782.

Yeah, but he only hit in the .290’s against LHP this year...would much rather have Kinsler and his sub-.500 OPS against LHP in there.

If the Sox lose a close game where Nunez and Kinsler go 0-8, Cora can wear a dunce cap for game 5.

He lives at the bottom of the plate and Devers and Holt are low ball hitters so there as a plus

Boston has hit Sabathia pretty decent this season...300/364/483 in 66 plate appearances in 3 games. They also had 5 SB’s in 3 games.

Overall he was 1-0 with a 4.5 ERA against Boston this year, only pitching 14 innings in those 3 games.
