"The Tampa Bay Lightning and Syracuse Crunch have jointly announced a five-year affiliation extension that will allow Tampa Bay's top prospects to continue to develop their talents in Syracuse through the 2026-27 season."

I wonder if there's an out, otherwise that rules Syracuse out.

In this case Charlotte isn’t a good location. Does the Canes get much air time in Charlotte? Last time i heard, no they dont. Having the checkers before didn’t change it.

Also charlotte has a very high average travel distance to opponents. I believe the Pennsylvania teams are the closest. If Tom D wanted to maximize on ice spending and keep other expenses down, getting a NE team makes a lot more sense.
