Yea it's odd because at first, they said his injury wasn't serious and he was kept out more out of precaution. When it started being longer than I expected, I asked Marcotte and Doucet (Laval Rocket broadcast team that follows the team all season), they told me that all the team told them was that it was a lower body injury and nothing more. Also, they told me they expect him to return tonight, which is not the case. Although they did say that he started practicing with the team again the last week.
Belleville will only have 12 players in the line-up tonight who were there at the start of the season. They have injuries as well as a bunch of their players being recalled to Ottawa. A real good opportunity for Laval to get a win. Not to mention to avenge their 7-2 loss from last Friday.
Solid one entry where Laval benefited from a Belleville lost his footing that provided a clear path for Shinkraruk to get to the net, but the goalie made the save. Shinkaruk's gotta make that count.
Nothing fancy going on, but Laval has picked it up a bit. They started getting aggressive on the forecheck and the defenders closing the neutral zone, creating turnovers.
Belleville started off strong. McNiven made two, three big saves to help weather the early onslaught. Laval picked it up after. But both teams were holding back most of the period, minding their defensive game more.
Laval's turned it on the last few minutes. Their goalie had to make a great save on Belzille who was posted in front of the net and who was beautifully set up by Adams-Moisan.
