Why rush them? If you're a season ticket-holder you wouldn't have this question. There are 41 home games at Rogers Arena to sell tickets for....watching guys like Beagle, Sutter and Gaunce trying to generate offense down the middle, while the kids marinate in the minors might make posters on this board feel good, but is pure poison to people who actually buy tickets.

Load up with all of 'em. Hughes, Gaudette, Pettersson, Dahlen, Juolevi and Demko. What's the worst that can happen? They flop and then get sent to the minors. It's not as if the Canucks aren't a bad lottery team again anyway.
So what you’re saying is you should rush the development of young players whom aren’t quite ready for the big show so the fans can be better entertained? With the risk of destroying a prospects confidence and development? Cough *edmonton* cough. Why not blame the horrible management instead for not putting a better team on the ice instead of signing and trading for plugs to entertain you.

Can we stop trotting out the fear mongering Edmonton example because this management insists on signing mediocre veterans to ridiculous, long term contracts? It is not only very tired it is disingenuous. Edmonton was bad because they had an old boys club, bad management just like Vancouver does.

These veterans and all their character, and all their mentoring, have resulted in the Vancouver Canucks missing the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years and having the worst record in the NHL over the past 3 seasons. How is it working so far?

It is a young league now. There are exciting young teams playing good young under 24 players and making the playoffs without screwing their cap structure with bad veteran signings like Vancouver.

I dont know what the panic is. If there is a rookie that plays well enough to crack the roster, they will crack the roster.

Rookies need insulation. Edmonton is a tired example but so fitting. You simply cannot rush a player that is not ready. It's much easier to healthy scratch players like Granlund etc.
