This move implies that we are getting back an extra NHL player in our trades.. which isn't a good thing IMO.

Exactly. We will trade hamuis and a 4th or 5th round pick for two fringe players that are underachieving... but they will both be under 25 and need a "change of scenery". Or one of them will be late twenties and an overpaid 4th liner- "a good character guy".

I dont get it i thought if waved another team will pick him up or if no one does he will go to utica?

Anyone explain please? :)

Vancouver is doing this to make him eligible to play in Utica at some point down the stretch or during the AHL playoffs. Any player currently on a NHL roster has to be sent down to the AHL before 3:00 pm tomorrow to be able to play in the AHL at any point during the remainder of this season including the playoffs.

They can call him right back up at 3:01 pm if they want him to stay in Vancouver or send him to Utica. This gives the Canucks added flexibility. But they can't do this until he first clears waivers.

Not that I care about Cracknell, but if he's waived so should Sbisa, Bart and Dorsett.

This usually only happens to players who aren't waiver eligible.

This is a garbage move, as usual. Cracknell has been Benning's only good value signing; he doesn't deserve this. Just another example of a loser hockey team treating its players like trash.

Calm down, it's in case Utica makes the playoffs in the AHL and he can be there

Feel bad for Cracknell. Instead of playing in the AHL playoffs, he'll be playing on an AHL team in the NHL.

Jesus guys it's Adam ****ing Cracknell... This thread is hilariously ridiculous, you'd think Chris Tanev was put on waivers.

Its the principal. Just another clown move from our terrible GM.

FWIW Cracknell is vastly superior to Derek Dorsett and at a fraction of the cost.
