Does anybody know the actual lineups/pairings for either team tonight?
Check the OP of this thread. Don't know if it's valid but it's there.
Pretty sure ours came off the line rushes, so it looks like their set.
What is set? There are five forward lines and nine defenseman listed for the Lightning.
...Tampa Bay will dress captain Steven Stamkos, top defensemen Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman along with the trio of Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov against Pittsburgh.
“We felt it was important to play this game and make sure we played a lot of our marquee players,’’ Cooper said. “But it’s not only to show them off to the people of Johnstown, it’s also for us to get our guys into game shape. We’ve had four exhibition games already but we spread our veterans out, so now it’s time to get ready for the season.’’
Stamkos, who will appear in his third preseason game, is happy to be in the lineup.
“I think the coaches understand that when you come to an event like this, you want to put out a pretty strong lineup, and we are,’’ Stamkos said. “You don’t want to come here and not play, so you want embrace that and interact with the fans. They come out and want to see the best players, and we put in a strong lineup and hopefully we can have some fun.’’
The Lightning have some connections to Johnstown with some of the team’s current staff.
General manager Steve Yzerman played his first professional game for Detroit in Johnstown during an exhibition.
Ryan Belec, who now serves as the director of team services, spent a year in Johnstown serving as the team’s general manager when the Lightning held an affiliate agreement with the Johnstown Chiefs in the East Coast Hockey League.
And radio voice Dave Mishkin held his first broadcasting job in Johnstown, spending three seasons as the voice of the Chiefs.
My tv is telling me the game itself doesn't start until 7:30
