Subban, Weber, Byfuglien, Karlsson, Keith, Kronwall, Burns, Letang. Faulk is improving each year in Carolina. Josi looks like he can put up at least 40+ no problem moving forward. Carlson has been good for ~35+ points a year for a while. Shattenkirk sits around 40-45 points nearly each year since he's been in the NHL. OEL has sat around the same 40-45 point range. Markov has put up good numbers throughout his career. Yandle is part of that group of OFDs.

Over the last 5 seasons:

1. Erik Karlsson: 268GP,66G, 174A, 240P
2. PK Subban: 2684GP, 43G, 149A, 192P
3. Dustin Byfuglien: 262GP, 60P, 129A, 186P
4. Shea Weber: 289GP, 67G, 115A, 182P
5. Keith Yandle: 303GP, 35G, 147A, 182P

And you could argue Buff should be lower on the list since he played a bunch of games as a forward.

If you look at the last 8 seasons (Since Yandle has been in the league) he is 3rd overall behind Keith and Weber.

He was (so far) overpaid relative to his role. A bottom pairing defenseman.

Your argument changes so much, you have no argument. You espouse how great Malkin and Kane are, they're elite and that 's what the Rangers are lacking. Now to make a different argument, you're saying they're overpaid.
