WOW, you passed on a top 10 much needed RH offensive defenceman in Bobby Sanguinetti for Giroux. Giroux is talented but he has high bust potential and came out of nowhere. Habs fan would not be happy...anyway it's just for fun.

As Franchise Player said, we had a long discussion about the pros and cons of every player we had on the top of our list and Giroux was our best option.

We discussed about it before we made the pick. After taking everything into consideration, we came to the conclusion we should go with Giroux. The pick was well thought and well planned, that's all I can say. Also, the real habs organisation is very high on Giroux.

Nothing really against it, just suprise with Sanguinetti still on board. BTW, how do you know habs manag. are high on Giroux? Just wondering.

Stéphane Leroux said that André Savard is really high on Claude Giroux. Every time someone asks André about Claude, he really can't hide the fact that Claude is one of his favorite by far.

With the 21st pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, the New York Rangers proudly select, of the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL, Austrian (Villach, AUS) right winger Michael Grabner.

We feel that Grabner's great speed and offensive instincts will flourish in the NHL and he will be a top line winger for years to come. With a player of his caliber, we were suprised he was still left on the draft board and immediately moved to select him without hesitation.

The Philadelphia Flyers are now on the clock.

That's what I'm talking about. Keep up the pace people. Rick was getting old waiting for picks to be made.

Referring to yourself in the third person Rick? Tsk, tsk. Must be a Mod thing. ;)

The Washington Caps draft Czech Center Ondrej Fiala from Everett.

The Capitals have been very impressed with Ondrej's development this season, highlighted by his playoff preformances.

Bufallo is now on the clock

Siriusly. I move that we amend the time allotted to teams to 12 hours notwithstanding midnight to 8 am. We're 5 days into the draft and not even out of the first round. At this rate the real draft will have come and gone by the time we finish this.
