My stab at North team here.

M. Tkachuk - McDavid - Marner
Connor - Matthews - Draisaitl
Tavares - Schiefele - Wheeler
B.Tkachuk - Pettersson - Boeser

Chabot - Petry
Quinn - Giordano
Rielly - Schmidt
Nurse

Hellebuyk
Demko
There is no way I would pass up having a line of Draisaitl-McDavid-Matthews

Could you imagine the scoring threat at all times? Draisaitl backhand sauce cross ice to Matthews? Salivating at that prospect!

That would not be fair. Talk about over the top!

Not going to go into lines for the Central, but I went with them.

My version. I actually think that line/pairing combos factor very strongly in expected effectives, so will *not* neglect that.

Aho - Barkov - Kane
Forsberg - Point - Kucherov
Huberdeau - Stamkos- Svechnikov
Hintz - Trochek - Arvidsson

Hedman - Ekblad
Josi - Jones
Klingberg - Heiskanen

North probably has the best group of forwards and the Central has the best group of dmen and the best goalie in the league.

In a 7 game series... i feel like Central would be pretty tough to beat. The balance of that team is too good.

North has a good Offense.... but really leaves a lot on the table defensively.. north would prob be most fun to watch.

Putting together a West team just for fun. The defence is crazy and they have several elite defensive forwards throughout the lineup.

Kaprizov - MacKinnon - Stone
Landeskog - O’Reilly - Rantanen
Perron - Kopitar - Pacioretty
Kane - Hertl - Schenn

Theadore - Makar
Girard - Doughty
Toews - Pietrangelo

Fleury
Grubauer

well as listed, Chabot, Hughes, Rielly, as the obvious ones.

difficult making an "all star" list, because Nurse probably makes it over Muzzin/Brodie there but i wouldnt trade either for him on the Leafs.
Not one of those defensemen are better than Nurse has been at either end of the rink. The forwards will have enough offense. Need actual defenders capable of defending

Will try West now

Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen
E. Kane - Kopitar - Stone
Kaprizov - O'Reilly - Tarasenko
Pacioretty - Couture - Perron

Toews - Makar
Theodore - Pietrangelo
Chychrun - Doughty
Faulk

Gibson
Fleury

When compiling a team, it felt a bit top heavy, but less depth than other conferences.

Drop M Tkachuk, Boeser, Wheeler, Giordano

Add Gaudreau, Lindholm, Ehlers, Weber.

You've got too many LDs and Giordano is pretty bad now.

Also Matthew Tkachuk isn't even the 2nd best forward on the Flames. Lindholm and Gaudreau are both better.

My version of the East

Panarin - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Ovechkin - Eichel - Giroux
Marchand - Crosby - Oshie
Guentzel - Malkin - Barzal

Provorov - Ristolainen
Fox - McAvoy
Letang - Carlson

Varlamov
Rask

For myself, I would expect the finals in this setup to be between Central and North. Picking North for the poll, but really who knows.

Id include Miller as a HM, and move up Boeser.

Good lines.

My forward lines would be

Lindholm-McDavid-Drasaitl
Connor-Matthews-Marner
Ehlers-Schiefele-Boeser
B.Tkachuk-Pettersson-Wheeler
Hm: Miller, M.Tkachuk, Gaudreau

If you don't have Gaudreau on Team North you are doing it wrong. He's absolutely a perfect winger for a high scoring centre when the other team can't just key on him. Remember when he dominated the World Cup?

He's a tier above Matthew Tkachuk at this point in their careers still

McDavid would probably end up with 0 goals, but 50 assists in 7 games. His speed and his ability to score would open up so much ice for the other 2. Would be ridiculous

4 of the league's best RD and you find a spot for Risto on the top line? That's an unusual choice.

Heh.

Hard to imagine a better powerplay than the North could put out.

I'd probably put Matthews on McDavid's wing and give Dra Marner so I have a elite sniper both lines.

I'd like to see the best goal scorer in the league playing with the best player. I know Oiler fans think Dra is better but I think this combo would shock them. When Matthews is your secondary problem on a line your screwed. I see no way to defend against both of them.

Agreed. The biggest difference is McDavid can really score, whereas Marner's shot doesn't scare anyone. There would be a lot of room out there for Matthews and McDavid would find him.
