"B2b, coming off a long break, best player out, backup goalie, all expectations point to a subpar performance and a strategic L, so getting an SOL is a bonus. It happens. No worries. It means nothing. Moving right along."

So basically rah rah rah nothing bad ever happens rah rah rah.

You might want to head to CDC if you want an echo chamber like that or can't contextualize that people are talking about issues that have bothered the team for pretty much the entire season.

If EP had a single bad game and people were calling to trade him or whatever, sure, fine, your point might have merit. But he's been pretty bad all season and it doesn't hurt to explore your options. Otherwise you end up with a Jake Virtanen situation where you have a used up player who isn't of use to anyone.

Good teams get into the habit of rolling over assets. See also how we ended up with JT Miller and what Tampa has done.

I have to agree, there is a core of posters here who are/were literally waiting in the blocks to vilify whichever players were on their respective shit lists or even the new coach. Second of back-to-back road games featuring the seldom used backup goalie after a two week lay off and we lose in a shootout and there are actually people who think the sky is falling. Talk of "reverting to the days of Green". Calls to get rid of some players. How long will it be before we have a dedicated hate thread about Boudreau and co.? I swear some posters here are neurotic lunatics. Guess that's what 50 odd years of losing does to a fanbase...

Yeah, better to just do drive-by potshots taking posts out of context or blowing them way out of proportion and taking snipes at the mental state of posters. Quality posting every time you rear your head. Thumbs way up!

Has EP been bad all season? Had Chiasson been bad all season? Is their continued struggling play not worthy of discussion?

Nope, apparently you have to literally be crazy to think so.

Just enjoying the meltdown on the oiler board right now
Obviously not as bad, but there's some funny similarities between what they're saying about management/coaches and what we were saying about Benning/Green.

Especially with Tippett/Green complaints. Passive hockey, reliance on powerplay, etc.

I agree with all this. There are certainly games where complaints are warranted, valid, and acceptable.

But this game is not one of them.

Get some perspective, please.

I think this season CRIPPLING loss could have been avoided if Francesco had FIRED Boudreau after that pathetic OT win the night before. It was clear the team was falling apart yet NOTHING was done to correct the situation. This was EASILY avoidable ffs :shakehead

Is it complaints or analysis?

I find folks are way too sensitive about anything approaching """"""negative"""""" takes on things when it's really just criticism or analysis.

You were the one who admitted you made up shit (exaggerated things) in order to create a point to rail against because reasons?

Who needs to gain some perspective? The guy talking about a player's performance or the dude literally making shit up to push an agenda?

Only saw the "condensed game" highlights off NHL.com but oof, that looked bad. Thought Green was coaching again.

OEL and Myers got torched.

Stinkers are inevitable, though. Let's see how they follow up.
