5v5 Points/60 this season:

Farabee: 1.73
Grant: 1.34

I can't speak on Grant as I haven't watched him, but from what I read on other boards Grant played 4th line only with Ducks and with bad line mates, and often faced top lines; played the toughest minutes. Whereas Farabee has been with Hayes, TK, Couts, Giroux, Jake. Has to be factored when comparing 5v5/60

I’m unaware of any quantifiable way to account for quality of teammates with 5v5 points/60. If you know, please share. I’d be thrilled to have that information

Braun 1.24
Hagg 1.2
Myers 1.1
Niskanen 1.02
Sanheim 1

Ghost 0.5
Provorov 0.49

Hard to believe Nisky is doubling Provy's 5on5 rate when they basically play together the whole time.

Some of it is puck luck, but some may be "veteranitis," kids like to wind up and fire, whereas the veteran defensemen are often content to just get it on net, which helps generate puck luck.

not saying it would improve Grant to being a 30-35 point player as his PDO is high but 1.34 seems like it would be very good for a guy with 70% defensive zone starts on a bad team.

I'm not aware either, but I was more so just pointing out it's not so black and white. Wasn't disagreeing with you, can't argue stats!

Different strokes for different folks.

Grant brings a different dimension of play to this team, Farabee is more skilled, Grant is bigger and more physical (6'3 215). Grant scores enough that it's not like the offense will spiral into a black hole with him on the ice. And his 4th line checking experience makes him a better matchup against certain lines.

They'll look at Grant and Thompson, AV has a pretty good idea of what he has in Farabee, Frost and Bunnaman.
I don't think any lineup is written in ink.

No worries! I’m just jonesin’ for a quantifiable way to account for QoT when examining players 5v5 scoring. Corsica used to sort of have it but that sites dead now I believe

I think Farabee is probably a better offensive player overall but Grant is a great PK guy by all accounts (we could do with that) who chips in with goals too, and Farabee will really benefit from consistent top line AHL minutes too.

I'm all for that move in theory.

His 5v5 Zone Starts Broken Down By Percentage:
On The Fly Start%: 58.31%
Defensive Zone Start%: 22.25%
Neutral Zone Start%: 13.52%
Offensive Zone Start%: 5.92

I am also curious to know if zone starts have some sort of effect on point production. I currently have no idea. Quality of Teammates does (in all-situations really).
