Tiger...only player under par on the course and is -2 today.
I don't know what was more shocking to me from yesterday, the fact that Tiger stood alone atop the leaderboard, then played the next 2 holes at +3, Speith totally collapsing when just an even par round would have won it for him, or the weirdness that occurred when everyone near the top of the leaderboard at the start on Sunday who WASN'T playing with Tiger choked a bit...

Molinari & Tiger have a bit of a icy history, was glad to see him stare down Tiger and win!

The most shocking thing to me there is that an intern makes $25 an hour.
I am not surprised at all that an entitled spoiled brat is getting everything handed to them from rent to allowance after college, to their phone, and an additional allowance from the grandpop.
I would be more interested to hear from someone that actually has to work two jobs and scrape by the skin of their teeth.

Well when a apartment the size of a closet costs 2 grand a month in NYC then making 25 bucks an hour seems kind of necessary.

My limited knowledge of internships are that they usually are unpaid.
I know Manhattan is expensive, the company my wife works for rents out a floor there for a million a month, or so I’m told.

yes, the American tradition of modern slave labor-work for us for a summer, for free! and add a line or two to your resume in return.

Has anybody been keeping up with this thread over on the prospect boards? Apparently Montreal has a top 3 prospect pool and Kotkaniemi is the second coming of Jesus. There is some first class cringe in that thread...

I guess it depends on the industry but today most internships are paid. In my major specifically it would be very, very uncommon to have an unpaid internship. I’m only in the high-teens at the moment until I finish this internship in a couple weeks, but I had a happy hour with some AIG people a while back and I found out those interns in CC Philly are over $30 (I want to say $33 but I’m not positive).

That would not be out of line with what we pay in Center City. I believe interns of certain specific skills can push the mid 30s in Philadelphia and ~40 in Manhattan.

This is definitely not uncommon, but a quick perusal of Glassdoor us paying as low as 19 per in areas with lower cost of living.

Anyone else getting hammered by the flooding? This is our family summer family campsite under water

My home town (25 min north of Hershey) was all over the news. They got hammered and are still getting it, people have been land locked for a bit now. It’s what happens when your creek beds are shallow and developing areas don’t build retention ponds.

3 years ago I did my internship in the northern VA area, where it’s also quite pricey (Loudon county is the richest in the US).. They hooked me up with a very expensive, fully furnished 2 BD, 2 BA apartment (roommate was also intern) and paid us $16 an hour. Now I’m full time in the same area. Let’s just say I’d rather take the $16 per hour plus paid rent over what I make without rent/mortgage (and I make fair money).

It’s more about networking and learning how the company works I believe. We have interns here that do menial things rather than actual engineering that their degree is in.
When a position opens up, people in house get first dibs, interning here at some point counts as in house.

That’s awesome. May I ask what industry you work in?

I'm in InfoSec, but I work for an accounting firm.

InfoSec is a bit of an odd industry, though. If someone gets beyond a certain level of defense without actively trying to do harm, my default offer is a job or bug bonus, not prosecution.

NICE. They’d be stupid to sell him.

Oh I agree, but they gotta find a way to offset that Fiat strike...

Fiat union's anti-Ronaldo strike was a 'flop'

An autoworker’s union strike Monday meant to protest Cristiano Ronaldo’s $131 million transfer from Real Madrid to Jeep-sponsored Juventus was a “resounding flop” in Italy, according to a Fiat Chrysler spokesperson.

Fiat Chrysler and Juventus are both controlled by the Agnelli family, who the union was asking to invest in the company rather than a superstar athlete.
Only five out of a possible 1,700 workers turned out for the action at the Melfi factory, which builds the Jeep Renegade SUV and other vehicles, Bloomberg reported.

But in all seriousness I’ve seen some stuff here and there mentioning his name connected to transfers due to the “need to offset costs of Ronaldo.” But to me it more depends what Allegri has in mind for up front.

Yea but I’d try to sell Higuain and someone else before Dybala.

Just got back from a long weekend trip to Breckenridge Colorado. What a glorious place. Epic scenery and phenomenal trout fishing were the highlights. Every drive was about as scenic as it gets. Drove over the continental divide, swam in the hot springs, caught fish of a lifetime, enjoyed legal recreational cannabis, saw pronghorns and buffalo galore, visited Buffalo Bill's grave basically by accident, and ate some fantastic food. The food scene out there was awesome. We actually drove through South Park randomly too which was a surprise. Would definitely recommend Breck and Colorado in general to anyone thinking about visiting.

Although we went to Vail one night expecting to stop for dinner and I felt dirty just being there. Wouldn't fit in there one bit, way too fancy for my taste.
