Never would I have thought That Ikonen would come back the way he did. HE is playing like a NHL player and he seems even more hungry than before his injury.

We drafted so well in 2017/2018 I'm really impressed

When Bergevin first came in, both he and Timmins said they were going to draft to try to get bigger. Now their drafting for talent and hockey sense, as evidenced by Timmins' post draft comments where he said they'll still consider big defensemen, but it's often hard for them to get to pucks quickly and think the game quickly.

I expect the drafting to be back to being really good. 2017 and 2018 are looking really good.

He's stacking up his points against week teams, but his goals are no fluke. One-timers, breakaways. Kid is skilled as hell.

At his first development camp, he was head and shoulders above his peers. I look forward to seeing him at development camp this summer - and main camp in two years.

Yep, I remember him just dominating, stripping puck from defenders on the forecheck a lot. Looking forward too!

I think Bergevin sees this and it's one reason he wants to hold on to his 2 second round picks.

I'd still be willing to give up 3rds and 4ths for undervalued players like, imo, Marcus Johansson. But not 2nds.

Would be awesome if Ikonen could prove me and some of the other haters wrong. I was ready to write him off after seeing him in the WJC last year, he's talented but I didn't like the way he played. To me it seemed like he was always standing still banging his stick on the ice calling for a pass

can't wait to see him at development camp, in scrimmages with Poehling, Ylonen, Olufssen, Evans, etc... so we can see how he looks compared to his peers.

yeah I was beyond unimpressed with his WJCs. Definitely wrote him off and would love to be wrong.

In 14 games played this year he has 5G-5A 10 points. That’s pretty good but I haven’t seen him play at all this year.

With all these trade rumours/offers going around HF, is this kid part of our no trade list amongst prospects?

He's going to break last years totals despite missing 5 months with an injury. I don't think he's untouchable but he's trending in the right direction.

He’s definitely not untouchable. In fact I think he’s the perfect prospect trade chip. He doesn’t have the speed to be an impact player in the NHL in my mind, more of a PP specialist.

He is. Very little info about the nature of it at the moment though. He missed the last 2 games.

He did come back earlier than expected, this kind of injury it's common to have it stressed and to have to rehab it for the few months after return. I'm not worried bout it.

he came back later then expected, he went under the knife in June was said to be out 6 months which would have been mid-decemeber if I recall correctly. I know there was talk in the Finnish WJC thread that if he could get back around then if they would leave a spot open for him or not. He didn't play till the 3rd week of Jan.
