I'm down with the flu and missed the game. Came back later to check and when I saw the lineup and it looked like some NHL16 computer generated random setup I first thought it may just be a fewer dream

Thought that's about as good as Laughton has played.

Gagner had a nice goal, but jeez, has he ever won a battle along the boards? I think it's more than toughness, some guys just don't have the hand strength and eye to hand coordination to control pucks when they're being jostled. Which is why Cousins plays over Weal.

I think Voracek sets such a high standard when he's "on" that people tend to get hypercritical when he's having an ordinary game.

They have to give Leier and Straka a look see before the end of the season, having fast, young wingers makes a difference. But RJ plays on the road b/c they just don't have enough size with Couts out.

Laughton did play well last night, as did most of the forwards. But let's be honest, Bernier was awful and the Leafs' defense might be the worst in the league.

Yeah we really scored 7 goals. Their D is atrocious.

What's great is how well Ghost fits in with the team. It already seems like he's in with the cool kids, Simmonds, G, Jake, Raffl. you can tell they love playing together. Bodes well for the future

Great game to be at, I'm sure the coaches hated it.

Flyers nation was alive and well tonight. If any of you saw a tall guy barking at the officials all night wearing a white Mason jersey, that was me

^Crazy, there were HUNDREDS of fans in the O/B last night, some areas were honestly predominately Flyers fans. Not sure if that's a result of TML sucking so much this year, our dedicated fan base, the season tickets being sold/given away, or a combination of all 3 lol.

Frustrating game re: refs, late hit on Ghost + goals waived off, Mason wasn't clutch, and just our lineup in general. Schenn was key, and that rounders clip someone posted earlier was awesome.

Still left with a smile, the streak is alive!

Laughton has seemed so much better on the wing. Amazing how that works when moved there with better linemates.

Cousins seems like he might seal up that 3c role we've been looking for going into next season.

I'm perfectly content with Giroux, Coots, Cousins, PEB starting center lines next season.

I like PEB, and think he is a good 4th liner... but I would be far happier with him on the 4th line wing. He sucks on the draw and while good defensively is not really good enough to take pressure off Couturier and Giroux.

I would love to get a Brodziak, Gordon or Gaustad type 4C in FA on a ~2 year deal to help our young players grow and insulate our prospects a bit as they come into the league. It would also help our top 6 massively.

Those guys do better in super tough minutes than our 4th line atm.

Leier -- Brodziak -- Bellemare

would be a big upgrade for our 4th... and very achievable.

I like this a lot. I think PEB has some speed to offer with a great PK presence. However instead of using "big" upgrade, I'd use the word "ginormous" upgrade. Mostly because VV is not inserted there..

I was really interested in grabbing Martin this offseason for the 4th line but I think getting a better face off 4C would be the ideal route to go. Leier can play a great game of the wing, maybe he's our next young Matt Read role.

Anyone see the CBC fee of Ghost getting tripped on the PP in OT?

When he got up he yelled at the ref "WHY THE **** NOT?!" Then kept carrying the puck up ice.

I still want Matt Martin too.

Martin - Brodziak - Bellemare

Yes, please.

I think if Leier keeps playing the way he is, they have to find a spot for him next year, not much left for him to do in the AHL.
Straka will be an interesting decision, he's turning his game around and it's use him or lose him time.
