Not sure this particular game is indicative of reverting to anything. For a 5 minute span in the first, they completely forgot how to defend their own zone and the Bruins scored 4 goals.

The overall recent trend is a team that has played fine fundamentally, but looks tired and shows it's true lack of depth when missing a player in Tippett causes lineup chaos.
