Why does every other team that didn't make the playoffs have a better record than the Sabres? Why is it that the only team with as bad a record as the Sabres one that did make the playoffs?

I tried my best to avoid the team last year. Hall & Stall gave me some hope. So I’ve watched the games so far but it’s the exact same team as it’s always been.

My friend is a Ducks fan so I watch them more then most teams. I can stomach their games, they are shit but they have an identity. They are very tough to play against. It’s gonna be a grind it out type game but they have the D and Goalie to keep them in it. They’re games are good because you know what to expect. They fight hard and compete every night. They also draft and develop their players very well.

With the Sabres, as much as I love them, there is no identity. It’s pure hope every game and hope ain’t enough. I can’t go into any game expecting they are going to be good at something. Are they good Offensively? No Defensively? No Goaltending? No Development? No Drafting? No.

I would love to see a plan for the team other than hire/fire, overpay/one year sign etc.

absolutely, this team is way too talented wait until we don’t play a team that’s not a cup contender. And even if we lose that first game against them , it’s one game we’re five points back of the division lead in the best division in hockey with 51 games to go. LOL

Dude I love the positivity. The boards could use it. I’m just not there anymore. It’s been too much of the same for me. Good on ya for keeping with it. Personally I just haven’t seen enough change to be positive about the team. I actually see more regression than improvement this year from our big boys.

We just played the caps for the 3rd time (aka we should know how to play them) without their top three players and lost. Imagine if we didn’t have Eichel and Hall. I didn’t say that’s all we’re going to beat we tend to actually beat good teams usually in normal seasons I’m just saying right Now since they didn’t manage to win most of these games they need to come out and feast on those two teams with your attitude of no excuses that’s all I mean, I fully expect them to beat the better teams in this division frequently this year actually...

In a shortened season in the toughest division every game matters. I’m more than happy with the bills though so that’s where probably where my energy is going even in the off season.

Same I live on the other end of north America near Vancouver actually Canada and never been to Buffalo just cheered for their teams since I was 4.

For yesr, the guy who does on MSG sabres hockey is brought to you but during the intermission is a friend of mine named Ralph haas also lives here where I do and I know josh gorges , he lives here we’ve been family friends our whole lives so when he became a Sabre that was really cool his uncle owns a local Dq here and we used to carpool and drive him to Hockey tournaments he played with my bro , I played blackjack with Tyler Myers at lake city casino when he played for the sabres in the summer of 2011 but we didn’t know each other like josh did... lafontaines cousin was my computer teacher, in grade ten as Rutland senior secondary, and afinigenovs sister joined my sabres group the hot tennis player we used to talk online here and there she was nice, so despite living over here lots of Minir connections I also interviewed Heatley in the summer of 07 and rubbed in the pomonville ot winner from

Same with the Sabres in general. I wish they'd just move at this point. You cannot change this kind of culture. I think this game goes an entirely different way if the Sabres bury 1 or 2 of those early great scoring chances they had and get out ahead of the Caps. Some of those have to start going in.

We definitely need a wake up call. Eichel is playing defense like he did before last year: passive as f***. Dahlins skating gets worse every year. Our supporting cast hasn’t been half bad. And of course, our cornerstones shit out a turdburger for us to eat.

also This isn’t a team. I don’t expect them to be the bills who look like they found their soul mates but at least show you care. This is supposed to be Kruegers strength. I think the maximum we can see is if Krueger takes the place of advisor or president for hockey operations, and Babcock is the coach, but even then this will probably only happen if we have statistics 1-9-1.

The 300 day excuse matters when the teams they played against didn’t have that excuse as they made the playoffs and it’s also the no pre season and adapting to not only new faces... but no fans, you talk about them being athletes well that’s foreign to them and takes time even biron said that, he would know ....it’s a process and even still the sabres have been in every game. It’s also not an excuse when we’ve only played favourites. The devils and rangers can be wildcards sure and yeah but we’ve got to win against somebody, that’s why I’ll be with you if they don’t beat them. I like this roster more then I have any sabres roster in probably a decade. The division it’s screwing us right now, this team even playing like it has could easily be 3-2 or even 3-1-1 right now , or at least 2-2-1 but sit 1-3-1, honestly I’d rather have this record and the guys at the stage of careers they’re in now waiting to break out like our elite guys with the additions, then to have our great starts last year and not have hall, staal, Eakin and sophomores in ullmark and dahlin.

I did not expect success this year as defense and goaltending were not addressed. What is bothering me is Dahlin looks like Colaiacovo out there, making bad passes, slow skating, loses his man in the dzone and it ends with the cataclysm yesterday of him 6 inches from Ullmark and directly resulting in a goal. Other things bothering me are Eichel and his general disinterest in the game, sloppy passes, trying to take on three guys again, no foot speed, missing the net with most shots and the others are hitting the goalie in the crest. I was hoping Staal would bring more, Eakin I don't even know if he is in the lineup half the time.

We are the best fans but after a decade of rinse and repeat shit is getting old. But for whatever reason, I keep coming back.
