That's just horrible...we have been so bad for so long.

I think Cole hit 40G. 100PTS we're not there yet.

Is this the year we finally have a 40 goal scorer? I doubt we have anyone in this organization that can eclipse 100 points.
Last 40 goal scorer- 1994
Last 100 point scorer- 1986
Hard to believe we have been this starved for star players for this long.

Do we "lead" the league in these two categories?

It's pretty remarkable to have achieved this... though not so surprising when you consider that we had Houle/BargainBin running the team for about half that time

CC will hit 40 goals… but I don’t see anyone capable of 100 points on this team.

I think Suzuki has it in him but he needs help. Especially better assets on the PP. I wouldn't expect Suzuki to get to 100 pts year after year in his prime but one season from age 25-30 range when we might have deeper talent for him to play with? I think that is reachable.

Odds might not be high but with a deeper roster, things change IMO.

Who has better odds to get to 100 pts? Michkov or Suzuki? Curious to see the comments on that one

Habs over the years have NOT drafted Carter or Getzlaf, Bergeron, Marchand, Point, Aho, Giroux, Cooley or Wright, Thatchuk...... Don't be so dramatic. Michkov won't get 100 points in Philly, ever....

Michkov may be the next Russian star but I feel several fans have him pegged as one for sure. I personally think he becomes a perimeter winger who is skilled but the area that is undetermined is how he will be able to handle the big mobile D in the NHL. So many struggle with that

I won't bet against Michkov getting to 100 pts but I won't bet for it either. Works two ways with me.

That has to be tongue-in-cheek, right? Michkov and it's not even close. Even if he ends up busting, he's got a greater chance now because Suzuki isn't even a first line player, let alone one who could put up 100 points under current NHL conditions.

Suzuki is at best an 80 point player. The Habs have no one in the system currently who could someday put up 100 points.

it had been years of dinosaur defensive coaches too. Send them to the minors to learn defence ….. over and over and over.
Don't forget that when an offensive player was brought up he played 5 minutes on the 4th line, got his confidence rattled and promptly sent back down because he didn't produce. That has gone on for years.

There are no 100 point players on this roster unless scoring inflates more.

Cole can score 40

The funny thing is arguably the best season by a forward since the beginning of the century was done by arguably one of the most criticized forward by the media and the establishment.

Kovalev has the only 80 points season since 2000 with 84 points in 2007-2008
Kovalev also has one of the only five 35+ goals season since 2000 with 35 goals in 2007-2008 (Patch and Cole got the other four).

He was also +18 that year so it was not PP production only.

Last Stanley Cup Finals ... 2021 !

Last Stanley Cup win - 1993. Getting to the finals was nice, but they never raised a banner for that and never carried that momentum into the next season, finishing last. They rarely had the talent in the last 3 decades to challenge for a Cup.

The 1993 season they had 4 players who had 80 points or more and 3 players that had 37 goals or more. Obviously having one of the best goalies of all time helped, but as Price showed it takes more than top goaltending to win a Cup.
