Ugh.

Same old story...guys are in the defensive zone thinking offence & it leads to BAD turnovers.

On the 1rst goal...I'm not sure Hall needed to pass the puck into the middle of the rink. Yak was wide open & flying waaaay too fast. I would prefer to see Hall hang onto that puck...and use a hard skating Yakupov as a decoy rather than actually feed the puck into the middle of the rink.

Anytime your going at top speed...you don't give yourself TIME to read/react if you take the pass. Kinda' "Break-Out 101", IMO.

On the 2nd goal...some people feel that's on Ference...I can't disagree...but...the puck got to Eberle and he wasn't ready for any pressure. That puck was pretty much taken off his nightstand back in the hotel room this morning before he ever pulled his little butt out of bed.

Also...we got out-goaltended...again...tonight.

Yak made a beauty 2nd effort to get a golden look for Gordo'...but...Bishop made an unreal save or we would have tied it.

Anyone else still think Hall has another gear than what he had tonight?

Seemed like he laboured to pull away from defenders on his breakaway. At 100%...Hall blasts those guys off his ass in 3 strides.
Knee injury??

Definitely. Don't know how much a knee brace will affect his normally explosive push-off, but he didn't look like he had a lot to give tonight.

Wow...Omark is so much more valuable to have in the line up than Acton or Hamilton.

If the # Oilers lay down a stink bomb like they did vs. Detroit then crap on them if you want. But the fact is this is an improved team...

he just tweeted this, nothing improved about the Oilers dont know what team hes watching

5-on-5 play is better, at least offensively, from last year.

The game was lost today because of 2 turnovers and below average goaltending.

Yep. I had to ask because its to the point where I see the worst possible scenario before I even see it with this team.

He also struggled to turn/twist on a loose puck in his feet tonight where normally he would juke around until he was able to grab it.

Ive never had to wear a knee brace but some guys get rid of it and never look back...against the Dr's advice and others say it makes their skating stronger...so...we shall see. Either way...safe bet Hall has to have surgery for MCL at the end of the year, I assume.

Ya'll are crazy if you don't think we looked good for much of the game. If they had Dubnyk in net, the Oilers would have scored 12.

Any other opinions, doctor?

Cheer up. You'll be facing the Flyers on Saturday and you have a good chance of getting a shutout, even with Labarbara.

That's not how it works with the Oilers.

Anyone who is struggling to score on the Flyers will jump start their offensive game against the Oilers.

I expect a ridiculous blowout against the Oilers in that game.

Sounds right, all the subtle movement is gone as it's probably absorbed by the brace. That's also a pretty sad indictment, and whats even more sad? You just might be right.

Not a promising list, that. Then again, we are comparing to Dubnyk...

Systems is a coaching issue. Blowing up the core won't fix that.

As for the effect Colorado's goaltening is having on their success, this season Varlamov has a 0.933 SV%. Last season it was 0.903. That is a huge reason why they are winning. If we had a 0.933 SV% goalie we'd be in the playoffs as of now too. We'd be 5th in GA and be around +6 as a team.

Of course goaltending is a huge part of Colorado's success, but they still are scoring bucket loads of goals.

Oilers can't do anything right.

Not bloody likely.

LaBarbera is even worse.

We went in against Peters, who had a 5+ GAA at the time and lost 2-1. You'll be fine.

They beat the Penguins 1-0.

You don't have to score a bunch of goals to win games. Sometimes all you need is 1-2.

In the case of our goaltending, even 5 isn't enough.
