When 6 of your top 8 players hasn't scored a goal for 2 weeks you're probably going to lose every night.

Devan Dubnyk is ****ing garbage. But people are seriously fooling themselves if they think getting a goaltender is going to make any difference.

The core needs to be blown up. Keep 1, maybe 2 of them. Get rid of the rest of these losers.

Goaltending was the difference tonight. There's not much question about that.

the giraffe and his looooooong leash.

when did this guy ever have competition to be an NHL starting goalie? Vs JDD?
Vs a 38 year old russian alcoholic?

Why is he an nhl goalie? why is he a starting nhl goalie?

where are all the people who insisted that his "good numbers" represented his deserved role as our starting goaltender?

Plain and simple, he cannot make saves.

I'd rather watch labarbara let in 5 goals/game for the rest of the year than have to see dubnyk play another game for us.

Honestly, I feel bad for them. There's just so many little things that can and do go wrong for them. And it's all piling up. It's not like they're not trying either. They're just having a helluva time out there. Confidence is low across the board. Players don't know who staying, who's going. They know the media and fans are on their backs. It's just a tough, sad spot. They have to, HAVE to find something to rally around. They have to keep playing hard and try to stay committed to the defensive side of things.

All in all I just feel bad for them because while they play pretty hard, they just don't have the make up and aren't getting any breaks whatsoever. Oh my poor Oilers... :(
Thing is Philly, why don't they ever seem to step back and really simplify the game, work all 200ft of the ice and focus on discipline within that? All the effort that you speak of? Imo its all individuals trying to take the world on. Fail. Every freaking time. Seems like almost every time they try a break-out and get pressured just a bit? Turnover. And not the apple kind. More like Cherry. Maybe it sucks to keep giving the puck back to the opposition, but at least if you chip it out of the D-zone, you are actually relieving pressure. At this point, I'd give almost anything to see even just a single period of simple, smart hockey from these boys.

I actually noticed a lot of between the legs drop passes tonight. Eberle and Gagner ... sigh.

Gagner has stunk so far he should of never took Arco's spot till he was in game shape he will come around the 10 game mark but so stupid taking a productive Arco of the second line . Another dumb move by rookie coach.

Still haven't seen the top 6 in its entirety. And there is dead weight to shed before blowing up the core.

Dump Hemsky@50% for a bottom 6 C or winger that can play defense. Waive or trade N Schultz. Either of Larsen or Fedun can handle his minutes and actually make a pass.

And most importantly, get a real starter that can at least post a .900 SV%.

I have decided that I can accept being this bad if it means Ekblad. But knowing the Oilers we would probably even mess that up.

Dubnyk can't cut it and we can't wait for him to find his game. It's already too late in this season anyways and playoffs are pretty much unobtainable at this point but find a god damn goalie. I'm thinking give Scrivens a chance, shouldn't be too much to add.

First two goals are easily saveable from every goaltender in the league outside of LaBarbera. Bad giveaways, but Dubnyk needs to make at least one stop there. Especially that second goal, that was just terrible.

Let me first say Dubnyk is terrible this season. The worst 'starter' in the NHL.

But his ineptness is compounded by a team that continuously gives it away in their own zone. Like it's incapable of making the 'smart' play. Weather it's D-man not being able to get it out or our forwards making stupid passes, we LOVE turning the puck over in our own zone.

Yeah goaltending would make a difference, but your kidding yourself if you think it'll solve all our defensive woes. We'd make it harder on any goaltender due to our craptastic play.

Giveaways = caused by goaltending?

Than why do teams even bother having one lol. all teams give up scoring chances your fooling yourself if you think not Tampa gave away at least 10 prime chances tonight their Goalie gave up 2 We gave away 5/6 prime chances Our goalie gave up 3 see the problem. Tampa had 9 giveaways Oilers 5 tonight.

We also need capable defense, but I understand and agree with the sentiment.

Our defense is so poor, we rely on negative possession as our defense. Wouldn't be so bad if it were not for the fact that it does not leave room for mistakes, completely exposing Dubnyk. Dubnyk did make some very surprising saves in this game so he did his part.

God damnit!!

I missed the game because I had to hang out with my stupid loved ones.

I need more info. Who sucked? Who is the useless puke we need to trade now? Which AHL player is ascending to god like status? Which former ALL-STAR made a Pejorative Slured drop pass or aggravated a nagging injury?

Look at the UFA goalies list coming up next season. That might explain what's going on here. Give up assets to get something for free after this season?

Buckle in boys. High draft pick, signing a goaltender and next year...

Just ask Colorado

Colorado had the same goalie last year and they finished 29th.

Better systems and young players actually developing and carrying their weight makes a difference. Colorado has 5 players with more goals than any Oiler and we've played 3 more games. They score the 5th most goals per game.

That's not ****ing goaltending.
