Gagner has stunk so far he should of never took Arco's spot till he was in game shape he will come around the 10 game mark but so stupid taking a productive Arco of the second line . Another dumb move by rookie coach.
Big Gagner fan, as you know. But yeah, he hasn't been good.

However, I'm not going to be one of those fans who start jumping all over the guy in his second, third, fourth games of the season - coming back from a serious injury and missing a good part of pre-season.

Hey, you have to take those small victories. ;)
Its humiliating to be a fan of this team. On so many levels.

Colorado had the same goalie last year and they finished 29th.

Better systems and young players actually developing and carrying their weight makes a difference. Colorado has 5 players with more goals than any Oiler. They score the 5th most goals per game.

That's not ****ing goaltending.

Being first in the league in GA begs to differ. There have been a few games this year where Colorado was dominated and goaltending helped them win.

Im not gonna break this down too much, but we played decent and lost. We aren't a very good hockey team, we don't have a very good coach. I liked Hall's game. I would like to try to pry Evander Kane out of Winnipeg for Eberle+, and even though it's a very small sample size, I wouldn't be too upset if J. Schultz was traded and Larsen/Fedun replaced him.

So the Oilers have great goaltending all of a sudden all our offensive players aren't going to suck defensively, all of a sudden they are going to know when to shoot the puck instead of trying to deke through 3 players?

That is delusional.

He doesn't mind at all.
Look at his interviews. Guy thinks he's actually earned the starter's job.

Yep, his entitled attitude is the worst part.

Remember when Khabby was the go-to guy and Dubnyk used to ***** he couldn't get 'in the groove' to get his game going?

Then remember him constantly complaining about always being doubted and always having to prove himself?

And then when it was that he had to adjust to the new equipment rules?

There is nothing redeemable about this sack of ****.

He's lost us like 3-4 games this season

Waive or trade N Schultz. Either of Larsen or Fedun can handle his minutes and actually make a pass.
Oh yes please ... Schultz is just awful.

Would you honestly say that our Goaltending hasn't been the worst in the NHL this year? THe whole team needs to get better, but goaltender is the biggest need right now.

Are you denying that Dubynk routinely let's in crap he shouldn't and fails to make saves that other starting goalies seem to make all the time?

I've already said seemingly 1/2 a dozen times that Dubnyk has sucked this year.

My point is so has the rest of the team. Anyone thinking goaltending is going to fix this team is wrong.

Are you denying that Dubynk routinely let's in crap he shouldn't and fails to make saves that other starting goalies seem to make all the time?

Do I need to quote the number of times I've said Dubnyk/goaltending has sucked?

Where the hell am I defending this sad sack goaltending? The point isn't that I think Dubnyk is being treated unfairly. It's that the rest of the team is awful as well.

how did Tambo not get in the Bishop sweepstakes?
no wonder he was fired

Dubnyk continues to stink and Bishop was amazing...Oilers played a great 3rd but same old same old...lots of shots and chances but their goalie was better than ours

That was a shameful performance by Tampa. They were handing that game to the Oilers on a silver platter and the Oilers still lost, pathetic.

Also, is there a more unclutch team in the league trying to either get the game tying goal or protecting a 1 goal lead in the last minute? Absolutely no hockey IQ on this team whatsoever. Gross

Maybe not but even with average goaltending we have a few more wins this season.

Do you not think it's deflating to play your ass off only for your goalie to give up a muffin every time you make a mistake?

The Oilers play scared in the defensive zone because they know Dubnyk can't be trusted to make a save in case a mistake is made.

We had how many odd man rushes in this game? And Bishop turned them all away.

The Oilers aren't going to play great every night, but it seems whenever the team puts in a good effort (tonight) they don't get rewarded because Dubnyk repaints his crease brown.

Every single team in the NHL has turnovers, bad passes, toe drags, etc.

Dubnyk makes a few saves and maybe they play a little bit more confident with the puck.

Systems is a coaching issue. Blowing up the core won't fix that.

As for the effect Colorado's goaltening is having on their success, this season Varlamov has a 0.933 SV%. Last season it was 0.903. That is a huge reason why they are winning. If we had a 0.933 SV% goalie we'd be in the playoffs as of now too. We'd be 5th in GA and be around +6 as a team.

Ugh.

Same old story...guys are in the defensive zone thinking offence & it leads to BAD turnovers.

On the 1rst goal...I'm not sure Hall needed to pass the puck into the middle of the rink. Yak was wide open & flying waaaay too fast. I would prefer to see Hall hang onto that puck...and use a hard skating Yakupov as a decoy rather than actually feed the puck into the middle of the rink.

Anytime your going at top speed...you don't give yourself TIME to read/react if you take the pass. Kinda' "Break-Out 101", IMO.

On the 2nd goal...some people feel that's on Ference...I can't disagree...but...the puck got to Eberle and he wasn't ready for any pressure. That puck was pretty much taken off his nightstand back in the hotel room this morning before he ever pulled his little butt out of bed.

Also...we got out-goaltended...again...tonight.

Yak made a beauty 2nd effort to get a golden look for Gordo'...but...Bishop made an unreal save or we would have tied it.

Anyone else still think Hall has another gear than what he had tonight?

Seemed like he laboured to pull away from defenders on his breakaway. At 100%...Hall blasts those guys off his ass in 3 strides.

When 5 of your top 8 players hasn't scored a goal for 2 weeks you're probably going to lose every night.

Devan Dubnyk is ****ing garbage. But people are seriously fooling themselves if they think getting a goaltender is going to make any difference.

The core needs to be blown up. Keep 1, maybe 2 of them. Get rid of the rest of these losers.

I've been saying it for awhile now. It's just too bad, such bad luck that they didn't get to draft at least 2 centres first overall... The harsh truth is their top end talent doesn't look as good as previously drafted top 3, top 5 picks. And they're small... Would've been nice if they could gotten a centre and stud D or 2 centres and a stud D... Miss out on Seth Jones last year when they could've desperately used him...

No quality veterans or bridge players will want to come here... the trade market is a slim one for MacT... basically I think they're completely ****ed, they need help at every position, this is a very bad situation. As of right now the past 3 years look like almost a complete waste to me.
