[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

Parts of the game were pretty good and there were parts where they took advantage of some mistakes.
Personally, I just have to try to come up with the big saves there. I have to be better, but there is a combination of things we need to go over.
- Henrik Lundqvist

When we’re giving up 3-on-2s and being sloppy in our own end, we’re not giving ourselves a chance to win.
It doesn’t matter who’s in the lineup.
- Marc Staal

I'm not quite sure what happened in the second. Every opportunity seemed to find the back of the net.
Every opportunity seemed to be a grade A scoring chance.
We don't have a reason or an explanation right now.
- Alain Vigneault

It scares me that Kostka will be getting top 4 minutes to start.

First game of the season for me at MSG, let's try to win it, please?

Woo! Loffen!

Would be nice to win and shut up some Islanders fans. Be able to hold over their heads that we beat them without our 1C and PPQB. But, I don't like using injuries as an excuse in the first place. If we lose, it's because the guys on the ice didn't play up to their abilities.

Malone pots a PPG tonight.

I'm glad AV slpit up Brass and Zucc.

They try to be too cute together and Stempniak has earned the right to be in the top 6.

Would prefer Glass sitting and Miller or Fast in that spot if Malone is going to play. That 4th line might be terrible terrible terrible, but I like the other lines

Miller and Fast prob deserve to sit neither look like NHLers right now

Miller is pressing can't handle anything and fast well fast just looks soft small and slow

But no reason why Zucc brass and Kreider shouldn't be playing together that's dumb

Could have a solid third line of hags hayes and stemp to follow them

Very disappointed in millers start. Felt like he was an important part to this season. Regarding fast I guess I don't see what everyone else sees. The guy is not a top 6 forward and gets lost on a "grinding" 4th line. Responsible defensively but brings nothing else. Hope I'm wrong in the long run.

Totally agree . Give the kreider brass zucc line a chance!!! It makes total sense. The way brass and zucc can control puck/make plays that has to make kreider a good fit to that line

They may not look like NHL'rs, (although I somewhat disagree), but Glass looks like an ECHL'r.

On another note, really liked Hayes last game. Looked good along the boards, strong on the puck, not in over his head. Played a smart game. Only real bright spot for me, besides Stempniak.

Zucc and Brass have both struggled in both the preseason and regular season. Splitting them up is just an attempt to see if someone else can ignite them.

Putting Kostka with Staal is an attempt to add some offense to the second pairing... Staal and Klein together did nothing in the offensive end of things.

The rise and fall of J.T. Miller. I think he's done in this league.

Would be real interesting to see if Hayes can pin down that center spot over Miller...honestly I'll take that if it happens, they need someone to get a firm grip on that 3C spot and be productive.

I also thought Duclair continued to play well and would consider him a bright spot. I'd like to see him continue to put up points and stay up but we'll see...
