They played 40 minutes of confused, aimless, structureless hockey. The coach stepped away, the players took over, and then they won.

This does not strike as a glowing review of an incompetent staff, and it's also not a stunt that tends to be repeatable.

Thing is you cannot perform like that against a Poor Sabres Team and expect to win in the playoffs.

They must take the gear to playoffs soon or they won't enter full confidence. Especially after making a roster move with Ghost.

They must prove the fans wrong that not keeping a player as valuable as ghost over Morin and some guys that need to prove they can step up.

We'll see this week end if they made the right moves.

Have you seen the standings? Their only realistic hope is to catch Boston now, who have games in hand and an upcoming stretch where they play the Sabres 6 times in 11 games...

That, or a monumental collapse by one of the Caps/Isles/Pens...
