Wouldn't move Pitlick or Comeau. Pitlick's 14 goal season last year was his career best, and he is regressing to what they thought he would be, a fast, lower line forward than can occasionally score. Ditto, Comeau. Every year, players at all levels have a different goal total than the year before. Even look at when the big 4 was Mo, Lehts, Hull and Niewy. Most years, only one of them had 30 goals, even though they all had 30 at one point for the Stars, and thus, set that expectation for all 4 every year. At some point, Seguin is going to have a slump year in his career. If that is this year, due to some bad puck luck, then its going to be this year.

Let's face it, the way the human mind works, very few players can live up to our statistical expectations of them. Also, we tend to think in black and white, or in theis case superstar/trash, without much in between.

Besides, our problems don't really lie with the third and fourth lines which seem to hold their own against opposition, although I haven't looked at any fancy stats. Razor did mention Comeau is last in +/- at -11, but said Monty would not hesitate to put him out to defend a lead. We have to remember when Carbo was our great defensive specialist, and he was a minus player (although close to even) because they never tried to score too many goals and you can't stop the Joe Sakic type every time out.

In games where it’s tied after 40 minutes, the Stars are 2-6-2. Over 26 years of watching the Stars and NHL, one of my benchmakrs of a team's talent is how they play the third. Most NHL teams can hang for two periods, but when the game is on the line, more talented teams can turn it up a notch and lesser talented teams cannot.

Glad to see people can actually see this, as opposed to last season when he was supposed to be better than hamhuis and pateryn. Maybe hitch completely broke him, but I thought he looked garbage then too when he actually played. Would gladly have either one of them in his roster spot
I've been in the same boat for a couple years. Especially this summer, lot of people around here we're saying all sorts of nonsense that he was in our "top 4" and it was all hitchs fault and blah blah blah.

When i saw he was drawing into the game last night, i was really hoping he would have a decent-ish showing, but scratching Bayreuther after what was a bad game, for perhaps the worst player in the Dallas Organization (Professional or Amateur) was just ......
