You would think Pietrangelo would have his head up, Ref gave him the boards which is what 90% of the D do, it's just bad luck, not ridiculous.

Pietroangelo didn't have time to grab the puck,look up and decide what to do. He knew there was no one in the centre of the ice so he through it across the net where it would have been cleared easily had the ref not jumped in front of his clearing attempt. The ref changed direction at the last second.

Not exactly what happened, but ok if you think it's wise for Pietroangelo to shoot without looking, then it really wouldn't matter what the ref did I suppose.
