Think it was a mistake for the Blues to get rid of Stastny honestly. They are only 1 point out of a playoff spot.

Even if they make the playoffs with Stastny, they're not good enough to win the Cup. If they had made up their minds not to re-sign him or he wouldn't negotiate, it makes perfect sense to deal him.

Now, of course they have to fill the hole he leaves next season, but Stastny isn't the key for the team moving forward. Just making the playoffs isn't good enough. It's all about continuing to develop young scoring talent so that they have a serious impact in the playoffs.
