Dog days of summer so I thought this would be a good time to try to put this together.

Just picked Patrick 2nd obviously and with a ton of new faces both already on the team and ready to debut in '17 it feels like the beginning of a new era for the franchise.

25 is also a tidy number so of course there's that as well.

Spanning the beginning of the Lindros era (give or take) til now which players make up the board's consensus for best of the last 25 years? I added goalies as well because I want a hard and fast and more or less "definitive" list.

Use your own criteria for your decision and after you vote if you feel like it post who you voted for and why.

Thanks all. Lemme know if I forgot anyone in the poll.

Winner of Poll #1 is: Lindros, Eric.

I'm going with LeClair. Then I'm gonna probably do Giroux.

After that it's gonna be Rico and Timonen followed by Richards, then Gagne.

I went with LeClair as well. Lindros and LeClair on the LoD line were just monsters so I had to vote them #1 and 2.

I'm with Beef, Giroux will be next....unless he gets number 2 then I will vote for LeClair again. :)

I'm extremely biased but I voted Brind'Amour. He scored a good amount and did ALL of the little things well with a tireless work ethic.

As suggested last Poll, I voted for Recchi.

... Giroux may eventually move up to that spot... or another Player of course... only time will tell... But as of today, Rex has my number two vote. :yo:

I went Leclair because he has the second best Flyers career, but I will always maintain he was the 3rd most talented player on that line. If you're voting Pronger relatively high, you should be considering Renberg pretty closely behind.

Surprised Pronger isn't getting more love. His impact on this team was probably the biggest of any player, albeit a short one due to injuries.

I like the way you think. I always felt like Leclair and Knuble were two guys who got the most out of their talent. Kim Johnsson too.

Giroux and LeClair are both great choices, personally I chose Giroux. Man I truly want him to captain this team to a cup someday.

Voting for the guy with a Conn Smythe trophy on his resume. Who also happens to be our current GM and is doing a hell of a job at it.

Also what the hell are guys like Matt Read and Andrej Meszaros doing on the list? More Jason Smith, Danny Markov, Dainus Zubrus, Dan McGillis etc. over that slop.

Have to choose LeClair here. Not only was he a key member of one of the most exciting lines in all of hockey history, but he was a dominant player even when apart from Lindros.

During his time with us he was:
6 x top 10 in goals (3,3,5,5,7,10)
4 x top 10 in points (4,5,9,9)
4 x top 10 in +/- (1,2,4,9)

2 x 1st team All Star
3 x 2nd team All Star
1 x 3rd team All Star

The guy was a leader, a two way player, and a premier player in the league during his time with us.
He's a USA Hockey Hall of Famer.
He has the record for being the first (and thus far only) US player to score 50 goals in three consecutive seasons.

While Giroux is very close (after his whole career he may be a top 2 franchise player) and I almost chose him, as of now, the greatness of Johnny Vermont cannot be denied

LeClair is underrated, largely because of Lindros IMO.

Short duration.

Yeah that's true. If we are going just talent though, like best player ever to wear O&B in that time frame, not necessarily the career they had in Philly, Pronger-Lindros-Forsberg-Jagr in any order would be my vote (though I would vote Lindros 4th just because I don't like him). If it is best career I think you go LeClair-Lindros-Giroux.
