Apparently there were legs to the theory that part of the issue was Malkin didn't have his legs, pun intended.

BTW, IF one were inclined to say the Malkin-Zucker combo gets a bad rap, then one could say Malkin didn't entirely have his legs in the playoffs either (not like earlier in the season). I don't buy that so much, because I think it's just two players who are oil and water through no faults of their own, but I added this in the interest of fairness.

Tbh I think they just got hella unlucky against a god mode Price last year. I don't think Malkin looked sluggish at all in the playoffs last year.

I keep saying it that he's way more creative than anyone gives him credit for. He doesn't play a full system style game. He creates and that pisses some of these awful NHL coaches off because they want full control.

He and Malkin may be Sullivan's two least favorite players, but it certainly is ironic that they hold the key perhaps more than any other two players save Jarry to his future.
