Our "trash" players are on the bottom of the roster, Lehtera and Weise rarely dress and only played 10 minutes, and as you pointed out, hardly saw the ice in the third period.

MacDonald has not been trash this year, he may have been a little rusty last night, but he has been our most consistent (not best or most talented) D-man this year.

The real problem is we don't have the 2nd and 3rd line guys who can give you steady play when needed, and the young defensemen, all of them, make too many mistakes. Time will solve the latter, new talent will solve the former.

The PK is a mystery, unless of course, VdV was the glue that held it together. :sarcasm:
Because other than replace VdV and PEB with Leier and Laughton, what changes did we make?
Yep like I said,Richards,Carter,Powe,Lappy,Betts,Gagne can PK the shit we have can't. Lappy was one of the best PKers in the league and knows how to. The jerk offs don't and they are easy to play against. Provy knock Hornquist on his ass after the first 3 whacks at it. Soft team.

I can't believe some of the nonsense I'm reading in here. Yeah Ghost made a bad play at the blue line that went the other way and Voracek shoveled a puck over the glass by mistake. People aren't saying these guys don't make mistakes. No one is absolving them of making mistakes.

Problem is, it makes little sense to sit here and complain about a couple of mistakes from players that unquestionably are effecting the game positively while we are seeing constant problems and nothing positive from 5-6 players night in and night out and yet the coach does nothing to change that - and continues to lean on them in critical situations.

It's like going to the doctor and complaining about a headache when you have an open gunshot wound to the chest.

Pens dumped it in last night and owed our ass and skated it in and owed our ass. Either way we suck ass end of story and the kids are 3 to 4 yrs away including Provy which sucks since he and Patrick are the only two in the end that will make a huge diff so far in the drafting ranks. Morin will too when these cowards running the team stop going more soft. Pens are tough bastards and they hit all night.

This means nothing because you say it when we win, too.

It the same stuff I've been reading for four years, why are they playing these guys?
Well, because they don't have other guys.

We replaced VdV and PEB with Leier and Laughton and the PK went to hell, meanwhile the two new guys aren't scoring - nice Corsi stats but Corsi don't win games.
Sure Patrick and Sanheim should play more minutes down the road, but there's a reason Sanheim has the worst net GF/60 on the team. And Patrick is just figuring it out.
Yes, Manning plays too much for a 3rd pair D-man, but he didn't make Gudas commit attempted homicide.
Weise and Lehtera hardly play now that Patrick's back, Read is back in the AHL.

The problem is that when your top players are losing games with brain farts, we don't have the talent down the roster right now to compensate.

Thanks.....forgot about that wicked shot.

Nice to see Patrick and Martel get so close to scoring....then get 6 shifts combined in the 3rd period.

It’s the age old definition of insanity, doing the same things time and again expecting different results. We’ve tried this, we’ve shortened the bench and played the vets and seen leads slip away - why does he keep trying it?

He’s supposed to be here to help the kids grow but he is showing absolutely no faith in them. How are you supposed to grow when your coach clearly believes Jori Lehtera is a superior player? I’ve seen weeks in jail go quicker than him.

The PK was crap long before Laughton and Leier. It's been awful for four seasons now. Thanks for cherry picking your stats once again.

How many games has Lehtera dressed?
How many minutes did he play last night?
What was his role starting the season?

Holy hyperbole.
