Montgomery plans to start resting Bergeron and David Krejci but “probably not this weekend.” The Bruins meet the Red Wings in back-to-back games at home Saturday and away Sunday. “They’re going to be fine,” Montgomery said of Bergeron and Krejci. “They are extremely fit professional athletes. Over time, if we can reduce not only theirs but other players, if we just sit them out two to four games, reduces by 16 to 26 percent of their workload. That’s very beneficial to when we start the playoffs.” … Montgomery on his postseason blue line rotation: “It’s going to be dependent on who we’re playing and what the series looks like. We have seven defensemen who are going to help us try and win the Stanley Cup. To us it’s not a rotation. We have seven D that we know are going to do everything they can when they’re in the lineup to help us win.”

Monty is awesome. Refreshing in his answers and he respects his players. Love the comment about the D group. Deserves even more credit than I think he gets for how great of a year this has been so far.

If the Bruins management/coaching staff thinks he's not good enough to play, why did we waste the cap space on the roster all season? Afraid to use him, afraid to lose him?

Not saying Zboril is gonna pan out or not at this point, but don't see the point of press-boxing a guy when we were fighting for cap space all season.

Anyways, this is the least of our worries, just pretty confused about how they handled him.

Hall will likely return to action upon the conclusion of the Bruins' upcoming five-game road trip that kicks off Sunday afternoon in Detroit.

Taylor Hall, out of the Bruins lineup with a lower-body injury sustained Feb. 25 in Vancouver, is expected to begin practicing on Monday and likely will return to action upon the conclusion of the club’s upcoming five-game road trip that kicks off Sunday afternoon in Detroit.
Hall, in the press box Thursday night for the Bruins’ 3-2 loss to the Oilers, said he was relieved that his injury wasn’t more serious and is eager to get back to work on Monday.
A source close to Hall noted that initial plan will be for the 31-year-old left winger not to play in back-to-back games.

Hall, who carries a $6 million cap hit on the Bruins payroll, currently is on long-term injured reserve. Provided another roster player isn’t injured, GM Don Sweeney will have to find a way to move some $2 million off the books if he places Hall back on the active roster.

According to puckpedia.com, the Bruins currently have just under $4 million in available cap space, room created when both Hall and fellow winger Nick Foligno ($3.8 million) were had their numbers taken off the books earlier this month due to injury.

Provided the Bruins back dated Hall’s injury to Feb. 25, he should be eligible to return to game action when the Senators visit the Garden on March 21. LTIR requires players to remain out for a minimum 10 games and 24 days.

He scored earlier in year on a beauty rush with a snipe top shelf then sent down over 30 games or whatever it was .Then he has a 2 goal game recently and not seen ice since.Hard to argue based off historic season but I have taken a liking to him and think his speed plays in bottom 6.I think he is with Bruins still Dan.I would need to confirm that though.

A lot will depend on what teams go deep in the playoffs this year. That $4 million increase could very well happen this year. Also, as I said a few days ago, there is a new leader of the NHLPA. Don't be surprised if he approaches the league to negotiate a higher cap and delaying the escrow lock at 6% just so he can get everyone's salaries up.

There are some projections that have it up to $92 million by 2025-2026.
