I really like hearing the phrase "Capital Loss." It was a hearty effort tonight for the Sabres. That last power play actually had some life.

Excited that I get/got to see 3 Sabres games in a row (Wash, WPG, MTL).

The Sabres were built to finish last, dumping solid veterans, and draft Joe Thornton in '96-97. Nolan got ticked and drove them to the playoffs...

It's amazing how much better this team is when Benoit's playing time gets cut by ~25 minutes.

Careful now. Myers looked that way too a few years ago. Which was fine. But as soon as Risto gets paid anywhere over 2 mil per, he's expected to be a 40+ pt. all situations never make mistakes or he sucks #1 elite Dman. :biglaugh:

Myers has never been so effortless defensively and smart with decision making as Risto.

Nowhere near that right now.

We shall see but watching some of these other teams and the Sabres are better than them. There are a lot of crummy teams this year and I don't think the Sabres are the worst of them all if they continue to play the way Nolan wants them to.

Even if they do though, the gap in talent is going to be too much to overcome on most nights. They'll win a few games here and there, but usually they're going to need all the bounces to go just right.

There is a huge talent difference with teams like Pitt, Anaheim and LAK but the talent is pretty even with a bunch more teams like Edm, Colorado, Florida, Leafs, Columbus, Carolina, Arizona.

Congrats to Zadorov. Game 10. He's an NHLer now.

And yeah...Risto is something special. His mentality is very different than Myers was in his phenomenal rookie year. Myers had these insane instincts that made him special. Ristolainen is just....everything. He can do everything. And he has figured out the how and where and why so fast...he's a smart kid.

Are you sure you want this team to be succesfull? In a winning game theres only 7 pages of comments and no GBU thread at all.
Or the most ppl have something stuck in their throats after demanding Nolan to be fired?!

lmao

His team was outshot 44-26 and the goalie he didn't pick had a great night.

Yeah he's a genius.

Actually I guess we should be impressed it only took him 15 games to realize that Girgensons should play with better linemates, Zadorov should play at all and that Andre Benoit shouldn't play 20+ minutes a night.

Is the effort now there? Some said this team was built by GMTM for last place purposes. Does this look to be the case now, that the players start to give a damn? He game a longer leash to the players for the first 10 games. Wouldnt you expect them to adapt after that? Wouldnt u expect Staff to suit better in the 1st line role than Girgs at least at the start of the season? Wouldnt you expect Benoit to get over that slump and help him to do it by giving more time on ice? Now thats out of our way and still Nolan is blamed of being slow to react. Zads.. you know the story behind that. If not, then read the

It's really not. Well, except maybe Florida. Every other team there clearly has more talent on their roster than we do. It's just either injured or being wasted by s****y coaching/effort.

Completely debatable. The Sabres roster is not that bad especially if the young players continue to progress.
