This might actually be a good thing for Finland, they need a kick in the ass.

They've been playing really lazy.

2-2............................they respond!!

Suomi stays confused! So many mistakes! It could be a nightmare World Cup.

Manninen is one of those players who would do fine in the NHL.
Played last year on Vegas's AHL team.

He is really, really small.

Team must apparently voluntarily play themselves to the underdog position to be able to fight against odds and through adversity, to be successful. Hopefully they get some grip (and grit) soon as there are not that many games left to play for underdog position.

All arguments concerning Finnish players potential are moot as long as Jesse Puljujärvi plays in NHL.

Why are our defenders screening Olkinuora all the time lol
The defensemen as a whole have been the weak link in these first two games, they get spooked when pressured and haven't moved the puck all that well in the offensive zone.

Lot's for them to work on in the upcoming games.

You were already a favorite in 2022 and it worked. But of course the superlatives are probably too much (Olympic champion, world champion, IIHF rank 1, host).

Some of Finland's players seem to me to be in bad form. It is not the classically patient and self-confident Finland that does the little things precisely and prepares the opponent in the position in which they want to have them. The distribution of matches is also not very good, at the end of the group stage there is no quality match before the quarter-finals. Does Jalonen have a plan B?

Olkinuora seriously looks like someone who has lost most of his good past form and shouldn't be in front of goalkeepers who have the confidence and quality, just don't have the shared history with Jalonen. Larmi got three shots that were of high quality, Olkinuora had two rather questionable hits there and it doesn't look like he should be a certainty.

Olkinuora is the backup. That's why Larmi played yesterday and Olkinuora today. One set of back to back left, Hungary then Austria. Looks like we need the best roster to beat Austria so Olkinuora get's Hungary and Larmi plays the rest of the games.
