Last thread was at 8K. Time for a refresh as Montreal plays out their final 12 games of the season.

Can you believe it's been 70 games already?

Montreal looks pretty solid at #5 pre-lottery.
Still has a good chance at #4.
And, a bit of a chance at #3.

Standings of the bottom 10 as of Sunday, March 19th:

Tankathon link, if you want to SIM the lottery.

This is the official tank thread along with general discussion on games meaningful to Montreal's tank (tank #1), or Florida's tank (tank #2). That last one isn't going so well anymore.

Vancouver is going to play themselves out of the Bedard draft. They're only 4 pts back of Ottawa in 11th & 5 points back of Buffalo in 12th. If they hit 12, there's zero chance at Bedard.

Frustrating watching Anaheim basically throw the game away due to mental errors and an overall lack of compete, and softness in the final 2 minutes. Their D really sucks.

Blues and Canucks winning is best case. It was always a longshot that the Ducks ever pass this team. I’d rather just not catch up to others and hopefully get a Top 7 pick

Habs have won 1 of their last 10. Picked up 4 pts out of a possible 20.
Ducks won 4 of their last 10. Picked up 11 pts out of a possible 20.
Hawks won 3 of their last 10. Picked up 7 pts out of a possible 20.

If this trend keeps up, the Ducks and Hawks could end up passing Habs, making MTL a Bottom-3 team.

Fingers crossed.

The hope is that Philly doesn't continue to shit the bed.

If Montreal lose in regulation to Tampa and Bruins this week, Habs could be officially eliminated from the playoffs.

If things go perfectly, they could even be eliminated on Wednesday night.

1) Habs need to lose in regulation to Tampa on Tuesday.

2) Pens need to beat Sens on Monday and Avs on Wednesday.

3) Isles need to beat Leafs on Tuesday.

We all know Habs are out, just that mathematically, it could become official this week.

Don't be so negative. We still have a chance to get that last WC spot and I believe in this team.

The thing is our last 10 have been against good opposition (Playoff teams and FLA), except for Anaheim.

The next 10 include Columbus, Philly, Buffalo, Washington, and Detroit.

Losing to Philly in regulation is absolutely crucial.
But unlikely

So you're saying playoffs are still possible... Excellent.

Agree. Habs are going to smoke Philly, and BJs. And possibly Buffalo. All three suck bad.
