Brutal call in the Oregon-Washington game on a review. Ball clearly hits the ground and they ruled it a catch after a review (4th & 1 too).

Edit: and the football gods come through as two plays later, Washington threw a pick.

The whole thing about 'video review' is it is still just one dudes opinion. When video review first came to the CFL jake ireland a former lousy ref made all sorts of head scratching calls or non call.

Oregon's coach losing this one for them. Should have kicked the FG at the end of the half and should have kicked another one here. They'd only be down 5 instead of 11. He should be wearing the goat horns if they lose this one, which looks like they will.

Edit: How fast college ball changes...Oregon scores TDs on their next two drives and takes the lead.

This coach for Oregon is a riverboat gambler and his gambles are going to sink the boat. What a class 1, grade AAAA idiot.

Need to vent somewhere. Washington had no business winning this game. Oregon's moronic coaching decisions to not kick two chip-shot field goals and to not punt to pin Washington deep late in the game with no timeouts left is why the Huskies won. He should be fired on the spot. Oregon wins this game by a FG if he wasn't trying to outsmart himself.

Vancouver
Fantastic game by Notre Dame over USC. Defense overwhelmed Caleb Williams creating bountiful turnovers. Offense powered its way to big points. And electric special teams with a clutch 100 yard return to kill any hopeful USC momentum.

...and to the absolute shock of no one, the committee professes their undying, neverending love for Alabama and votes them into the college playoff on the last weekend over an unbeaten Seminoles team, who was in the top 4 all season long. I don't care for the Seminoles but that is garbage, even if 'Bama did upset #1 Georgia (which isn't really an upset because of how good both teams are).

Their criteria for inclusion is interesting. Not so much what have you done during the season, but what we expect you can do in the next game. It's like if the NHL decided at the end of the season that the points you gained during the first 82 games were irrelevant, and that the teams that are the healthiest at the end of the year will get into the playoffs.

It's all a popularity contest and likely a financial decision. At most, Georgia should have fallen to #5, Alabama up to #6 with Florida State, Texas, Michigan and Washington rounding out the top 4.

The NCAA needs big bucks through advertising and the SEC is a huge conference which generates interest with sponsors, advertising and tv ratings.

If their 4-team football playoff is without SEC representation, viewership and advertising likely takes a huge cut. What better way to generate more advertising and interest is to create some controversy by bumping a team into the top 4 from the SEC in and knocking out an unbeaten team from the ACC out.

A Michigan-Washington-Florida State-Texas playoff is much less interesting than Michigan-Washington-Texas-Alabama.

I think this is one of the reasons I don't get too hardcore into NCAA football. Rather just watch whatever good matchup is on TV and call it a day.

Think I'd get to frustrated with the politics behind NCAA sports.

FSU got totally screwed and the selection committee are frauds.

IF the big factor was FSU not being good enough due to losing their starting QB they should have been dropped out of the top 4 as soon as that happened. The committee did not do that, they left them in and FSU won with their backup. They then left them in the next week as well and they won again with third 3d stringer. Then all of a sudden they need to be removed becasue the 'best' teams need to be in.

Fine, if that is the case there is no way Georgia should have been out after winning 49 games in a row and losing by a field goal in the sec champ game.

Georgia is better than Washington, Michigan and Texas and would have a 50/50 chance to beat Bama if the game was tomorrow.

A total botch job imo.

That botched snapped on the extra point winds up being the difference. Hopefully Michigan can still pull this out.
