Avs should still be in on ROR in FA. He won't cost any assets to acquire. He can alternate 2/3c with RyJo or cover for when we get an injury in the top 6

So we set the tone/expectation on cap dump returns?

Interesting hypothetical: would you rather have RyJo at 2 years 4M, or Hayes at 3 years and anywhere from 45-50% retention?

Obligatory swag on off season

Under the radar trade for "potential'
Something like Toews + Picks to Ottawa for Brannstrom + Gauthier
They put Gauthier as a 2nd line winger

We go value game in FA
Looking at Kampf, Donato, Bjugstad makes a brand new 3rd line
I really like Conner Clifton. We grab Clifton and play him with Brannstrom on the 3rd pair.

Happy offseason!
Wtf…

I’d rather Hayes. Cheaper and was better than RyJo this year. But in saying that RyJo has far more potential to boom than Hayes does so.

This. ROR is still a perfect fit here. With a combo of RyJo and ROR as the middle 6 centers we'd be really solid.

I hope the Avs aren't done addressing the center position. Newhook and Meyers is a recipe for disaster in the bottom 6.

Probably can't afford is the main problem.

He certainly doesn't suck. Had 9 pts in 11 playoff games in a bottom 9 role. Would gladly have taken that from any of our non top line guys last year.

"Bottom 9 role"

He had the 3rd highest minutes of all Leafs forwards. Only Marner and Matthews played more.

And almost all of his points came in round 1 against Tampa which was a very high scoring series.

He isn't good anymore and he's over 30. He isn't going to get better.
