What stands out to me right away is that 3rd line. That’s in the conversation for the slowest line in all of hockey. And I really like Monahan.

I would prefer RHP with Suzuki-Caufield, and the third line could be Newhook-Monahan-Anderson.
But that would leave Pearson-Dach-Slaf, and Gally on the 4th line... so I can understand why they did that, at least for the beginning of the season. Lines could change quickly though.

That third line is such a waste of Monahan, it won't stick for long. Also I hope they send Barron down eventually if they're not going to play him often, he needs reps.

True, however they are all very high IQ players, don’t think it will matter much. That’ll be a very good defensive line that will contribute some.

I don't get why RHP start with the black hole Evans at center.....If you don't want to play him on the 1st line because that line would be too small, at least play him with Monahan.

I think MSL is giving the vets (Gally, Pearson) an opportunity to show that their lackluster play was only due to them being smart vets and saving it for real season start (haha).
I expect that after a few games Gally is either injured or off the 3rd line because he can’t keep up.
