If Gibson is indeed hurt for awhile I think I'd much rather let Dostal start every day in SD, as he'll need it this year to prepare for being in the NHL full time in 23-24, and just claim someone like Daccord since Stolarz is good enough to get a full starter workload if Gibson is out

On paper Valamaki looks exactly like Vaakanainen. Do we need another one?

Val - 2017 16th overall LHD Finland 6’2
Vaak - 2017 18th overall LHD Finland 6’2

No, I wouldn't say we need him, however if the front office/scouts see something there's enough uncertainty with the group to add him to the mix

Yeah I'd tend to agree with that. If it were later in the season, it may be good for Dostal to come up and split the NHL games with Stolarz. For now, probably best for his development to get a steady workload with the Gulls - prove he's an elite AHL starter.

If Gibson is actually injured, here are the goalies on waivers today:

Alex Lyon
Pheonix Copley
Connor Ingram
Antoine Bibeau
Aaron Dell

Given Arizona's goalie situation, I am guessing they claim one of these guys, and they have a higher waiver priority than we do. My bet is they pick Ingram.

Gibson will be fine, he was annoyed and it was pre-season he prob called himself out. He was getting shelled and took a puck up high he probably told Eakins I'm good.

Jon Gillies and Juho Ulkinuora waivers as well

Players of today's crop I'd have varying degrees of interest in

Rielly
Wagner
Bemstrom
Maltsev
Blidh
Hirose
Mayhew
Heponiemi
Moverare
Schueneman
Geertsen
Gauthier
Sabourin
MacEwen
Kempny
Clifford
Simmonds
Harkins

If the prognosis on Gibson isn't good, I like Copley, Ingram, and Gillies the most out of the goalies

Really would like Reilly but I'm sure we won't get him as usual.

Zack MacEwen! Come on Verbeek!
I think we offered MacEwen a contract a while back so maybe Madden liked him when he was a 20 year old prospect.

Givani Smith is even younger at 24 and could be a good one as well. On the blue line there aren’t many options, maybe Geertson who is a lot younger than Tinordi could be a good one for the Gulls and a D/W call up against the Coyotes.

I am not sure how Florida becomes cap compliant in the next 3 hours without trading somebody (probably Hornqvist, maybe Gudas). There could always be some random injurty that coincidentally pops up in the next couple hours.

Gudas would be nice. Gudas for future considerations, essentially Mahura for Gudas.

Gudas on third pairing RD. Shatt to the pressbox.
