My earlier post got eaten by the servers... This is a great luck, Wright is the smartest player in the draft, he's physically ready too. I don't think his lack of pace/motor is what a lot of people made it to be, rather he was thinking well ahead of the competition and being in smart positions without needing to be balls out all the time. He's going to make all the right moves on the ice and be an asset in all three zones. Bonus if he uses this draft slide as further motivation.

Minty rose a lot in the last few months. One of the two defensemen I thought we might trade down for, at least before Wright dropped in our laps.

Lekkerimaki and Kemell both slipping a bit, they are smaller-sized goal scoring wingers.

For a minute there I saw NJ get my guy and I got furious, but then remembered who the next two selections were bound to be.
Give it a couple of years and this is going to be fun.

So the talk earlier was about moving into the 1st. Since Driedger is out for awhile and they want a better backup what about Mrazek from Toronto? 25 + Mrazek for 35 + 117? Obviously when Driedger is back your crowded in net but if Mrazek plays well he can be traded or sent down and if someone claims him you get that money off the books. Just a way to move up and keep the other 2nd's while addressing the goalie position. Not sure Toronto is that desperate to move Mrazek though.

Hey everyone. Devils fan here.

Unlike Fitz, Francis did NOT F it up and picked the BPA at #4 who should've been at #1 (or #2 at worst).

You guys got one hell of a player who would be ready to play with the big boys now if given the opportunity.

It is what it is and I hope Shane Wright utterly destroys my team every time he faces them 'cause make no mistake, he's going to be motivated as hell now.

Enjoy.

Had to rush to the M’s immediately after the pick was announced, but what a great moment and great to be at the party for it. Definitely really fun “shitting” with everybody there harder and harder as each pick was made. Wright!

I just can't believe we got Shane Wright. Never thought he'd fall to #4. Incredible.

We now have #1 and #2 centers for the next decade plus. It's a good good day.

Damn good night for Bob McKenzie with 29 out of 32 from his list taken in the first round with 25 Chesley, 29 Del Bel Belluz and 32 Luneau being the odd men out.

Must have thought the world of Nemec...I did and kinda had my heart set drafting him at #4. I also follow Philly so I'm plenty used to being mad at NJ. And also mad at Philly.

I don't think you'll regret taking him in the future but things did work out nicely for Seattle too.

So after Wrigh falling to us at #4 the really important part of the draft, for the franchise, starts later today.

I hope Francis finally gets aggressive and moves up for the players he wants, given that there are some interesting guys left and we've got all of those picks.
