Thanks for posting this.

Is Hamara still hurt from U18?

This team does not have much offence. I do think it'll be out best D core in years... especially if Hamara is okay. Nice to see Nick Malik is still around.lol

Defense should really be the best in a very long time. However, the attack is below average. Myšák will almost certainly play with Novák, so they played in preparation and they did well. The rest of the report is usually really below average. Perhaps except for Kulich, who I really liked at HGC and I hope that he will rise in the ranking for the draft.

I like the D... curious how it compares to a Big 5 D. Feels quite strong to me with porentially 5 guys being drafted. Jiricek is doing very well in Extraliga. Svozil should do well in all situations in CHL. I think Krutil is in AHL now which is also excellent if true. Hamara is not hurt anymore. Moravec is a regular in extraliga as well.

The forwards are definitely a notch below... no Lauko/Jenik type or Necas/Kaut/Chytil types. Maybe 4 of them get drafted in Round 3 or later? I really like Mysak but he's not the most dynamic. More a hardworking team guy.

I agree, one of the better Czech teams defensively in a while and will be even better next season. However I still think forwards are notch below when zadina, Necas, kaut, etc were playing.

It's a neverending cycle.lol

This year we have Good D but below level forwards
Next year we'll have elite C's but no wingers
Then we'll have elite wingers but no C's
Then we'll have elite Centres and Wingers but no D
Then we'll get elite centres, wingers and D but our goalie will be a sieve.lol

I'm opposed to Czechs and Slovaks combining (because I want both nations to develop and sport to grow) but this might be the year where a Czech Slovak team would be damn good! Toss in Slafkovsky, Nemec on our D and a few others and we're back in the big 6!

Two guys I’m curious if they’ll make it

From a selfish perspective, what are the chances Chmelar makes it?

From a sporting perspective, Sale is a player I think should be on the team. Does he have a chance? He should be a first round pick in 2023, and he’s off to a great start this season.

I think the chance is very small close to none. 04 guys like Kulich and Sapovaliv are probably better than him now.

Good enough team to surprise a big 5. But special teams will have to be excellent.

his size should not be a problem in wjc
Because he won't play there :)
No, I'm really skeptical about this. Times have changed and even small players are gaining ground far more than ever, but this is extreme. It may be valid in the Czech extra league, but world hockey is a level elsewhere.

Not that Krejsa is gonna make the team, but Petr Kodytek is 168 cm and made it 4 years ago.

Yes, and it never suited me, I distrust these extremely undersized players on the international scene. He would have to be absolutely exceptional in hockey to be able to replace his handicap.
Otherwise, I'm not saying he can't get on the list, I just don't personally believe it. He played 4 matches in the national team, the coaches probably have other favorites. But if he scores and plays well (I don't know, I've never seen him play), maybe he will be at the championship.

if he keeps putting up poiints in czech extra league, i would be shocked if he does not make it.

Kodytek is on his way to become one of the best players in Extraliga in 1 or 2 years, and also to be a regular national team consideration for Worlds.

Hypothetically, if he (Krejsa) is a good skater with a lot of energy, high compete level and is sufficiently skilled, i don't see why his height should prevent him from being nominated.

There are also exceptional players who have managed to establish themselves in world hockey despite their small stature. And then there is certainly a much larger crowd of those who were prevented from doing so by the handicap. It's a strange question when hockey is one of the most physical games ever.
