Vegas escaped the injury bug too. I know that Stone was likely not 100%. However, no major injuries to their top 9 forwards and the most games missed by their top 6 d was one a piece. That’s just absurd or destined.

The match ups reminded me of the King’s first cup round. Hell, the Knights may have had it easier. I will never forgive the hockey gods for running the Sharks through LA, Nashville, and St. Louis and then rewarding them with a loaded Penguins team in the finals.

Nashville was a fair 2nd-round opponent (and the Sharks played down to them) but LA and St.Louis were below average relative to the round.

2019 was the gauntlet year. They faced two championship-caliber teams back-to-back only to lose to a ho-hum Blues team.

That would kill the trade deadline by preventing teams from adding players with accrued cap space. For example the Avs Cup winning roster was over the cap too not from abusing LTIR but by being under the cap all season then using the accrued increase in prorated space to acquire Manson and Lehkonen.
It would make teams be more strategic with how they add when guys are hurt on LTIR. If a 9 million cap hit (Stone) is hurt but will come back for playoffs the team can add to replace but would have to make tough lineup choices when the player comes back. Sit an overpaid 3rd liner instead of 4th liner if that gets them under the limit with 20 skaters.

I just checked into my room at the MGM. The parade is tonight right outside of my hotel. I‘m not a young trouble maker anymore so I will probably just stay in the casino and ignore the parade. I do wonder….Would I get arrested if I throw a half empty Modelo tall boy at a player? What about if drop my shorts and moon them from one of the walkways over Las Vegas Blvd?

Time to start drinking and see what happens.

Let's not be a sore loser. Vegas fans were prim and proper when Marleau broke the record in their barn.

I stayed in Summerlin at my Gfs. How long ya in for?

Someone tried to argue that the knights have a deep prospect pool with a ton of guys like Paul Cotter ready to step in immediately on the first two lines. I almost feel bad for them not knowing what’s in store for them in a couple years.

Fans showing basic sportsmanship and decency? If the Sharks had won how would you have liked Vegas fans disrupting the celebrations?
One is an individual accomplishment and recognition of an impressive career. The other is a team accomplishment of a rival.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the fan of any other team disrupting celebrations. Unless you’re implying that fans should be unemotional about their frustrations.

I think if you let sports get to you so much that it is causing you to make outbursts in public you should stop following sports.

Absolutely, unfortunately the majority of some fans don’t have this level of maturity.

One of the rules of player spending rules has just been broken, Eichel just became the first player to win the cup with a cap hit of 10+ mil a year.
