per Chris Johnston no waivers today. I think Murray would have to be put on waivers by thursday for a friday buyout? feels like murray will not be bought out and something else will happen. IMO

They can place Murray on Waivers as late as Friday.

The 48 hour buyout window runs from Wednesday through Thursday. The buyout paperwork must be filed by end of day Thursday. The player must then be placed on Waivers at the next available opportunity. If the buyout paperwork was filed after the Noon waiver deadline on Thursday that means the player would go on waivers Friday.


In summary: the 48 hour window is the deadline for filing the buyout paperwork. The player can clear waivers after the deadline.

Not shocking, he played in only one AHL game last season, before being loaned to the ECHL and later Jukurit—where his stat line looked solid.

Expect he’s off to continue his career in Europe.
