The call on the ice was no goal.

There was literally no evidence to show that the puck definitively crossed the line, hence the call stood. Even the angle that looks the most convincing isn't conclusive, and it was a bad angle to try to make that call from.

It was never reviewed or thought to be reviewed. Broadcasts were in the middle of seeing it as a close play when the puck was dropped. Doesnt really matter though, it didnt go in

not sure about that. seems like vegas is not happy with his lack of progression. it might not take that much to get him if he were available.
If he's a PP specialist and they weren't even willing to dress him despite not scoring a goal a man up the entire series, he must be seriously Merkeley-like in terms of NHL-readiness.

my friend who's a vgk fan tells me that it's mainly the skating after his knee injury is really not up to snuff. not sure if there's more to it but that's what i've heard so far.

Even if that's it, skating is kind of a big part of a player's game. My rule of thumb is if you're never good enough to make it on a playoff roster over Reaves then you shouldn't be in the NHL. To think Vegas opted to give up Suzuki over Glass in the Max trade.

Feels like the Sharks/Islanders would be good trade partners. Dobson and Wahlstrom don't seem to be getting many opportunities there...

They are pretty young and expansion exempt so Im not sure the sharks would pay the ask. I think they will be looking mainly a young center anyways

1) Why are you friends with a VGK fan? :skeptic:
2) I'd still take a risk on him given his potential upside...same goes for guys like Nolan Patrick and Dylan Strome. The Sharks are nowhere near being legit contenders and need to take risks on young guys with potential upside in their search for talent.

I know Doug apparently has Grand Plans this off-season but there literally hasn’t been a single Sharks rumor this off-season other than some players don’t like Kane.

It’s weird and a little boring.
Pretty normal. Very little sharks rumors and the ones that their are dont become anything. Sheng is good but none of his scoops last year worked out

I know we’re used to general silence but there’s often some rumors connecting the Sharks to players — this year there’s literally nothing.

Not really. Typically there is almost radio silence and the rumors that pop up are usually unfounded. Once in a while their interest in a big fish like EK65 bubbles to the surface but it's along with a lot of other teams. This seems like a pretty typical off season for the Sharks as far as news about what they might be thinking. It'll move fast once the playoffs are over though.

And if it does surface, it is like the sharks have called but there doesn't seem to be any interest beyond that.

I've been kinda enamored with the idea of somehow trading for Cody Glass. I think the only way that happens is if we overpay to a huge division rival for their top prospect. It could be worth it. Thoughts?
Filed under things that will never happen - Couture for Glass, who says no? Vegas gets their playoff 1C and the sharks get out from underneath a contract that will only get worse.

(Perfectly aware that we aren't trading our captain to our current most hated rival)

Isles won't be trading those. I'd back up the brinks truck for Dobson - the Isles just do things their way and the path is slow.

WITH that being said, there is an Isle that I'd have interest in who I suspect may be available - Kieffer Bellows. I doubt he'd cost a huge amount and I think he's not waiver exempt this year. Another one in the Donato-re-try mould, but I think he has a lot more untapped upside. Not sure where he sits in the pecking order for the Isles if Palmieri re-signs...

Does Merkley for Glass make sense? There's your 3C.
Per Vegas sites, his skating sucks post injury and he’s basically just a net front PP specialist that struggles at ES (where he avoids the front of the net). While I’m more than fine to move Merkley for something before the bust label is fully there on him, not sure Glass is the gamble right now that I’d be moving him for.
