Not a good situation at all. You have to wonder if this could impact the entire bubble. If one team has had to withdraw entirely it's safe to say the bubble has definitely popped
NO, MLS, had that with both Dallas and Nashville opting out, the bubble continued on.

No, Dallas and Nashvile OPTED out - they didn't start to play and then get sent home.

Although I don't think that's really what happened with the Riveters. I think they were wracked by the barstool controversy and internal strife drove some players to quit. Covid just provided an easy cover story. We'll find out if any of the reporters covering the NWHL are any good, or whether they're just PR fangirls pretty quickly.

Isn't that bolded part a forgone conclusion? Sports media outlets don't assign their more experienced & skilled staff members to cover the up-and-maybe-coming leagues (unless for punishment purposes). Enthusiasm is a cheap & bountiful trait in the candidate pool.

Well, considering that the clown who stirred up the Barstool crowd has been an NHL beat writer for a real newspaper, you'd think she'd NOT be a PR fangirl, but hey, here we are.

In Game #1, third year BOS defender Lauren Kelly scores on a juicy rebound early in a first period power play to put the Pride up 1-0 over Buffalo.

Beauts defender Whitney Dove pads her League lead in penalty minutes with her team's second minor of the 1st period, but her teammates play tight to keep Boston from scoring another extra strength goal.

End of one period, BOS 1 - BUF 0. A lot of time spent on odd-woman advantages so far, not likely to change as this best-of-3 mini-series continues.

End of two periods, Pride 1 - Beauts 1. Just one minor penalty for BOS & two for BUF (incl. one in the closing minutes), but both defenses held their ground (or ice) well. Buffalo's skaters look a bit tired to me, and Boston has been taking advantage with speed in transition. Very competitive hockey, another period ahead - at least.

Boston received a rare face-off violation penalty (delay of game minor) early in the 3rd, but the Beauts were unable to capitalize.
