During the broadcast they compared him to Bergeron and Toews. High praise, but probably wishful thinking since both of those players are generational talents. But I'llgo along for the ride and hope for the best. Good pick regardless.

My hope is that Carson Lambos somehow falls to us. He was highly rated before his injury. Though, interestingly, not many details were release about the injury.

I think there are some good choices for us in the 2nd round. One of these can fall to us:

Chibrikov
Stankoven
Chaayka
Pinelli

Raty is still available but I would stay away from him.

I don't blame him given how bad this draft is. I think it might be better to wait and see and try to get some 2022 picks.

Noticed when we traded the arizona pick. It was a 2022 4th instead of a 2021. That speaks volumes on how they feel about this draft.

I'm expecting Seattle to go Defense in round 2! Maybe they select S Svoril. But you never know perhaps they rate others like Forwards Stankoven, Robertsson, Chibrikov, Harrison, Pastujov, Pinelli and Raty ahead of him! Good Luck to the Seattle Kraken may they "hit" on all their picks

This is a real bad sign of things to come, IMO.
He still doesn't seem comfortable making any kind of quick decisions(no matter if those picks are this year, next or in 2023) and runs down the value of those players.

Gotta hope he strikes gold in free agency or he'll be forced to take on a bad contract with teams certainly less and less willing to sweeten the pot for him.

BTW: There are some interesting names left on the table.
We could take a swing at guys like Ratu, Chibrikov, Pinelli, Toumaala etc.

If we'd be willing to trade some of our extras, we could.....but yeah....

At this point this is where the lack of scouting actually hurts. Another reason why to wait till to trade extra players.

I think you take a flyer on Raty.
He's a heavy forward, and if Ron wants to keep the trend of being a big team, he should do it... provide him a consistent environment, time to develop and he might turn into something promising.

Otherwise -- I think it'll be Stankoven or Pinelli
