Re-watch the Road to the Stanley Cup video's.

It gave the team confidence when Lombardi brought in players that made them better. It showed the players that management believed in the team to go for it. We're just going to end up missing the playoffs again and act surprised when we did nothing to improve this team.

A) the team was a contender then.
B) that’s a fluff piece. Had Lombardi not made a move, they’d be saying how great it was to not mess with the team chemistry.

The Knights are on a hot streak right now. 5 in a row.

4 out of the 5 were against pretty bad teams. They have at least 6 more really tough games ahead of them. EDM has some seriously tough games too , and very few possible layup games. We know exactly what happens when you think you have a win in the bank before the puck is dropped. We're still in a really good spot with 10 to go.

Totally different teams -- this years Kings team is/was not even expected to make the playoffs. It's a 'turn the corner' year.

This team is being carried by vets who are having career years after never doing anything. It’s nothing like the 2010 Kings. The only thing that’s the same is Quick is the teams best goalie.

Why are you comparing this year’s team to 2014? They’re nowhere close to that squad.

Well, Kempe and Kopitar and Iafallo are scoring again.
It feels to me like Dallas should be the odd team out, when all is said and done.
But it also feels like the Kings are getting it done with smoke and mirrors lately.

Of course they are....when you have a smoke and mirrors defense...its gonna look like that,

From the offensive woes, to playing an callup as a #1, and missing your D #1-#4 etc, to keep winning, that's a good sign,

Moore is a veteran now? 2nd full season in the league, and he's.....a veteran....

Lizotte, 3rd full year, and not having a career year at that....

There is a formal definition of veteran players for the purpose of pre season games. One of the criteria is games played, which is 100 nhl career games minimum.

What they've done up until now is incredible - especially over the last 2-3 weeks. But if it all fell apart over the last 3-4 weeks, it would be easy to understand, too.
