Hobey Baker winner Dryden McKay discusses suspension for banned substance

Dryden McKay, goalie for Minnesota State, tested positive for a banned substance earlier this season because of a wrongly-marked supplement. Rather than face a stiff four year suspension, McKay will serve a six-month penalty. He discussed the process and situation with Elliotte Friedman.

Josh Hauge Named Union Head Men's Hockey Coach

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Following an extensive national search, Josh Hauge has been named the next head coach of the Union College men's hockey program, Director of Athletics Jim McLaughlin '93 announced on Friday afternoon.

Hauge (pronounced HOW-gee) becomes the 22nd head coach in program history and the seventh in the program's Division I era, which began in 1991. ...

Hauge finished his seventh season on the bench at fellow ECAC Hockey member Clarkson University in 2021-22, including the last three years as the associate head coach alongside Casey Jones. In that time, Hauge played a large role in recruiting and player development for the Golden Knights, helping Clarkson post five 20-win seasons, capture the 2019 Whitelaw Cup as the ECAC Hockey Tournament champions, and appear in two NCAA Tournaments. ...

The Atlantic Hockey Association Board of Directors has voted to reinstate former member Robert Morris University, the AHA announced Friday.

Robert Morris’ reinstatement as a full member is effective immediately. The Colonials will return to competition in Atlantic Hockey at the start of the 2023-24 season. ...

Robert Morris will use the 2022-23 season to prepare for returning to the ice in 2023-24. Derek Schooley, who served as Robert Morris’ head coach from 2003-21, remains as the program’s head coach and also serves as RMU’s Director of Men’s and Women’s Hockey Operations. ...
