Kuch had always been so durable until last season. Hate that injuries could potentially shorten his career
Agreed. After watching what happened to Vinny, and then everything Stammer's gone through, just hoping for the long term health of Kuch.

In light of Kucherov's injury I demand this to happen if we threepeat. We deserve it dammit

If it's a sports hernia injury (which is in that groin region). Recovery from surgery is like 6-12 weeks, although some absolute mad lads can be back in 4 weeks.

Just because he could be doesn't mean he should be. It's one thing to push your rehab schedule as aggressively as possible for the playoffs, but even the 12-week prognosis would still only be January. If it takes until January to hopefully keep this issue from recurring again, then it takes until January. We don't need him back in time for Thanksgiving. Way too much hockey still to be played at that point.

Well, we don't know if it's a sports hernia (it's just playing the odds here), but the 4-week group are generally elite athletes who can get the best care (exactly like Kuch). The Lightning won't spare any expense to get him back, and recovery would be his full-time job.

Us rabble have to wait for the specialist to get back from vacation or whatever. See you in another six weeks. Kuch can see the team doctors every day if he needs to.

If this is going to be another 5 months without him situation, then Tampa needs to get him on the ltir and make the needed moves to keep this team a legit contender until his return. They could deal with the cap issues when the time comes, which in the above scenario would be around the tdl anyway. This team does not have the depth on offense this year to be a top 5 team for the next 4 or 5 months without Kucherov, so unless they put all of their chips on the defense and Vasi to keep them in a top 3 playoff spot, they are likely in considerable trouble without a move or two being made.

I'm guessing they are waiting for the swelling to go down and it's not going down, which is why they don't know how long it will be that he is out for. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

I mean this is best case scenario. It would prove to everybody we can only win by cheating while simultaneously making us a dynasty. I say bring in Eichel and shelf Stamkos too cause you already know the wheels are gonna fall off that train. Eichel, maybe we bring back Gourde. A little RD action too?

Some good rental F targets could be Rakell or Jarnkrok perhaps, with Forsberg being a much bigger fish(if even available). If RD is a need again, Manson would be the ideal add, but for a depth add, Troy Stecher or Mattbew Benning would likely be cheaper to acquire. All depends on the severity of Kucherov's injury of course, but these could be options if we're talking most or all of the regular season again.

Can we get Gourde back from Seattle?

It's funny to think about getting Eichel, but we would miss playoffs giving up the last remaining depth players we have in our lineup for Eichel. Probably lose Cirelli and Colton +++
