Nice to see the prospect tournament back and that we’re playing other teams than Toronto and Pittsburgh. We’ve whooped them enough in the past, need some new blood

I'm going! My early ranking for this tournament:

1. Buffalo
2. Ottawa
3. New Jersey
4. Montreal
5. Boston

Ottawa should have Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson, Stutzle, Pinto, Formenton, Kelly, Brann, Gustavsson & Sanderson in their lineup next season, all under 25 yrs old, half the team. And then they have Boucher, Jarventie, Greig, Ostapchuk, Sokolov, Crookshank, Lodin, Daoust, Kastelic, JBD, Thomson, Guennette, Sogaard, Merilainen & Kleven coming all under 23 yrs old. I'm guessing that a number of these guys won't make it, but some will & should improve the team including who they add in this yr's draft plus the next two drafts as well. Those that don't make it could be traded to improve a position or acquire more picks/prospects. This team is very young & improving with better players every season & it won't be long before they are not just in the playoffs, but challenging to win it all.

Given there has been no rookie tournament the last two yrs due to Covid, it will be interesting to see who will play in this upcoming rookie tournament. This roster doesn't include who they draft this yr, if who they draft is eligible.

Jarventie - Pinto - Sokolov
Crookshank - Lodin - Boucher
Daoust - Greig - Latimer
Ostapchuk - Kastelic - Reinhardt

Sanderson - JBD
Aspirot - Thomson
Romeo - Guennette/Roger

Sogaard - Merilainen

Couple of opinions on this.

1. Lodin isn't a C, he is a LW so I would expect Greig to be C2.

2. We have a LOT of LF prospects going off just this list. They are also varied in style so depending on development I could see any one of them making the move to pro.

I’m really hoping Crookshank can pick up where he left off and push Parker Kelly for that 4th LW spot.

Pinto won’t be there and I doubt Thomson, JBD or Sanderson are.

He played centre in a game I watched in Belleville, I assume he can play either position.

There’s a chance that he migh not play as he is still recovering from surgery.
This is the latest I found on his recovery. GARRIOCH: Senators' prospect Jake Sanderson says he'll be ready to start next season

He’s still wearing a brace on the right hand to protect the injured tendon, but says he’ll be ready when the new season begins in October....

“It’s getting better,” Sanderson told this newspaper. “I’m working out every single day, I’m doing treatment for my hand, and I don’t really want to put a timeline on it. I do know that I’ll be ready for the season, but it’s getting better every single day and I’m happy with where it’s at.”...

Unfortunately, Sanderson still isn’t at a stage where he can shoot the puck, but he recently started going on the ice with Senators technical skating specialist Shelley Kettles. She’ll help him prepare to make the next step to the pro level after two years at UND...

“I started skating with her this past week and she’s really been awesome to work with on (power skating),” Sanderson said. “I love what she does, so I’ve been on the ice with her twice a week.”

So can't shoot the puck yet (as of 25 Jun anyways) to me suggests he was at least a couple weeks away but I think there's still lots of time before Dev camp, no? When is it this year?

Just hoping for no injuries at these tournies that alwyas have overzealous fringe guys trying to gain some traction towards a 2way contract.
