Yeah, I don't think Toews is a very good comparison for quite a few different reasons.

To stick with the Blackhawks trend, I think maybe someone like Patrick Sharp is a bit more realistic as a baseline. Probably a bit better in his two-way game.

I think McMichael has the hockey IQ and skills to at least play in the NHL. Maybe not perform commensurate with his prospect status, but not outright suck either.

That said, I'm torn as to whether I would prefer he play in the OHL or sit on a taxi squad a year. I can see benefits to both. The benefits of game speed/compete vs practicing daily with guys like Backy, Kuz, Chara and daily work with the Caps development, strength and conditioning personnel.

This might be the best case scenario for McMichael and the Caps.
