Ottawa is interested in trading down... moving up to 5 would be lovely, imagine if Rossi or Raymond are there for the taking.

I doubt they’d want to move down that much. Maybe later in the top-10 if the rumor that they want Askarov is true. Having said that, it likely costs too much to trade up. Would love Rossi, Raymond, or even Drysdale if we somehow traded up for it. Wouldn’t give up next year’s 1st though in what is a loaded class of defensemen.

In a not surprising development but according to Freidman people around league believe Devils are eying Askarov

Devils have picks #7 , #18 and #20

Could grab him at #7

If we're looking at players that could be available at 17, I think the Blackhawks list could look something like this:

1. Dawson Mercer
2. Rodion Amirov
3. Dylan Holloway
4. Noel Gunler
5. Seth Jarvis
6. Jacob Perreault
7. Hendrix Lapierre
8. Kaiden Guhle
9. Lukas Reichel
10. William Wallinder

Mercer and Amirov could be picked ahead of us, so it could come down to Holloway and Gunler.

I hope Holloway gets picked before us. Just not a fan of him at 17.

Remove 10 and 7 and I’m good with that list.

Too much needs to go right for Wallinder to pan out.

my personal list
1. Mercer
2. Holloway
3. Jarvis
4. Amirov
5. Perreault

If we could trade for a late 1st...

I think Amirov is the pick.Kelley mentioned they have been watching him for awhile and he scored 2 goals in the KHL the other day.Skilled winger with some grit and size.Good on the cycle.

I like him

The Russian factor is always a variable you worry about. But he’s very talented. Plays 200 ft. We need more forwards that play that way (Holloway and Mercer too)

I didn't think Lapierre would be on the list, but Kelley called him "one of the elite playmakers in the draft". I don't agree with the statement, but that's high praise.

With all the great luck we've had with injury prone guys, why not bring in another one?
I'd lose it if we drafted Lapierre lol.

I think we should be looking at Mercer, Amirov, Khusnutdinov, Gunler, Holloway, Perreault. Even Wallinder and Bordeleau.

I'm not really considering anyone else.

Where are you on Holloway?
I wouldn't be mad if they took him, but I wouldn't be excited either.

Guys I'd be excited about:
Mercer
Amirov
Gunler

Content:
Khusnutdinov
Holloway
Reichel
Schneider
Perreault

Frustrated:
Zary
Jarvis
Lapierre

Holloway I'm good with. I think he can be a solid top 9 option that gives us some 2 way play and physicality. He's not flashy so he's not going to be as exciting as an Amirov, Mercer, Khusnutdinov, Gunler, etc.

I'd be content with the pick, but it depends who is still available.

Pronman has Gunler @ #31, Wallinder #27. Not suggesting that Pronman is the definitive authority, just found his rankings interesting.
